"Madam which meat be that wey big like say e go full mouth" "Customer na Premier League defending champion, na why e big" "Hope say e go soft wella" "E soft kpa, na for Highbury i cook am" "Oya put am"

Manchester United have decided to continue with Michael Carrick. Read that as backing if you like. I'd read the week. Berrada, Wilcox and Vivell sat in a room on Monday to discuss replacing him. Wilcox wanted Howe. Vivell had sounded out Nagelsmann. Emery was admired and priced at around twenty million. They walked out with the man they'd walked in to replace. That's not a decision. That's a draw. Carrick goes to Stamford Bridge on Saturday with the whole country knowing his employers spent a day trying and failing to find someone else. Whatever happens there, they've made his job harder than it was on Sunday night. They couldn't sack him. They couldn't agree on who'd replace him. So he stays. That's the club. Not the coach.
