Sometimes we don’t have control over how a chapter in our career will end. I was lucky to have met and worked with some amazing, talented individuals on what was truly the unique experience of Deadrop.
The Art team at Midnight Society worked tirelessly toward creating a vision and atmosphere where players could truly immerse themselves. Unreal 5 allowed us to adopt new workflows that leveraged powerful features such as Nanite and Lumen, albeit not without their own set of challenges.
I am incredibly proud of the work we accomplished given the immense scope of the project relative to our small team.
Our industry is undergoing some much-needed growing pains, not always in the way we would like but it is important as developers that we put entertainment and escapism first before all else in order to improve market stability.
With the right team configuration, reasonable scope, and vision, smaller studios stand to gain incredible success and that is something to be optimistic about.
Thank you to everyone who supported us during this production, we are truly thankful to our founders and to players who were rooting us on.
