The government has postponed its proposed 1,000-baht tax on each trip overseas, saying it wants to keep tourism booming in the final quarter of 2026 rather than add extra costs for travellers, airlines and foreign visitors leaving Thailand.
For now, that extra 1,000 baht can stay in your travel budget.
