Picture this: You are a Trainer who wakes up one morning to discover you’ve been turned into a Pokémon, and as a Pokémon you can now understand what other Pokémon are saying!
It’s time to either pass your role of running the company to someone who actually cares about art without the usage of AI, or continue down this path and have that countdown timer above your head tick down until the day you see your company get destroyed from the outside in.
But using generative AI hurts artists and animators that want to make themselves out there and it lacks the artistic expression that you used to have. It’s a bit cheaper, yes, and the games will still sell, but in the long run… you’re only hurting yourself by taking a shortcut.

@AkihiroHino. I say this to you, personally. I have never seen a company that fell off so hard to the point where it’s blatantly obvious that it’s AI generated in literally everything at this point.
You’ve not only hurt your fanbase to your franchises that want a new game, myself included, but you’ve also hurt your company’s own legacy with lots of creativity and art direction, and all the artists that pour their hearts into the said project, but no, you went for gen AI.

More reports why Sony is trying to end physical discs:
- They want to cut out the middle man, to make more profit per sale (like remove walmart cuts etc)
- Sony thinks the fanbase will not switch platforms, they can do what they please without losing fans
- They are convinced by ignoring this issue, they fans will just accept the changes and convert to 100% digital with time.
- Sony thinks they are "too big to have commination with fans". Talking to fans has no margin benefit, so they refuse to address fans and will keep doing so
I have lost all trust and goodwill with PlayStation, no words what is happening right now. Horrible company
