There are many engineering archetypes, but these two help me most when talking to leadership:
- Engineers as application builders & integrators
- Engineers as infrastructure builders
If you hire an infrastructure builder to build applications and integrations, they will cause a ton of nuance and will fail, and vice versa.

Primitive Obsession is a code smell which indicates a deeper problem with our code.
How can we recognise the symptoms?
What are the consequences?
And, most importantly, how can we fix it?!

ICYMI, @NWSSWPC has issued the first G4 (Severe) geomagnetic watch since 2005. The aurora tomorrow may become visible over much of the northern half of the country, and maybe as far south as Alabama to northern California.

Here's a quick thread on a super useful type helper you've probably never heard of (nope, not even advanced folks).

TypeScript 5.4 will bring a new utility type: NoInfer.
This will be EXTREMELY useful for generic functions where you have multiple candidates for inferring a type.
In the example below, we use NoInfer to make sure that 'initial' must be one of the states passed.

Today #AWS #ECS released support for EBS volume Task attachments for #Fargate and EC2 backed workloads. It's been an exciting program to see come to fruition. Looking forward to seeing customer feedback: aws.amazon.com/blogs/aws/ama…

Yank to clipboard now works even from remote SSH, with OSC 52 + compatible terminal (hint: most except macOS Terminal):
:help clipboard-osc52

P.S.: paste "just works" when you use your OS paste function (see below).
Just Paste It.™
Since 2019 paste "just works" in both terminal and GUI #neovim . Use ctrl-v or cmd-v to paste the damn text. Works in all modes, won't do weird stuff in normal mode. Customizable (:help vim.paste())!
So 'pastetoggle' will be removed.
