Love the image of a mom holding her toddler. As a dad of one, very realistic that'd she insist on being carried... only missing the unused stroller to the side.

We turn 225 today! 🎂 🥳 Here's a brief summary of the Library's history, courtesy of Dr. Carla Hayden, the 14th Librarian of Congress. loc.gov/about/history-of-the…
In about 45 minutes, I'm reading a 10-minute segment of The Great Gatsby as a part of the @librarycongress celebration of its 100th anniversary. Watch the livestream here:

Great snippet of a Library of Congress Crime Classic being recorded!
I have a new blog post out on the latest @librarycongress Crime Classic, "V as in Victim." Written by Lawrence Treat, this book is the first police procedural. Fascinating seeing what passed for forensic science in 1944 compared to modern versions via CSI

U.S. Poet Laureate Ada Limón got to do something very special on Monday. She watched as a spacecraft carrying her poem, "In Praise of Mystery: A Poem for Europa," lifted off from @NASAKennedy, the first step in a 1.8-billion mile voyage to Jupiter’s moon. 🧵

Trump ended the debate by saying Kamala Harris is the worst vice president in history.
Just some historical context:
Aaron Burr literally killed someone and then later after his term was charged with treason for trying to create a breakaway republic.
TIL that there is a "Captain Marvel" character that is actually owned by DC Comics, not Marvel Comics. It's what the "Shazam" character was originally called.
Great pitch Dr. Hayden!
As a Baltimorean, it was an honor to throw the ceremonial first pitch at the @orioles @nationals game in celebration of Nat’l Book Festival Day. It was a pinch me moment to receive tips from Hall of Famers Jim Palmer and Cal Ripken Jr and the support of Os owner David Rubenstein.
Can you pass a U.S. citizenship test? @washingtonpost has a civics quiz for July 4th. I scored 10 out of 10, naturally 😊🇺🇸
