π§΅Over the last few days Iβve been building out a scoring model using 654 qualifying player-seasons from 2014β2026.
Qualifications:
20+ PTS/75
25+ MPG
50+ games played
The goal was to measure more than just who scored the most or who was the most efficient. I wanted something that captured how much you scored, how efficiently you did it relative to your environment, how much actual scoring value you created, the pressure you put on defenses, how well you preserved possessions, and how that scoring translated to team offense.
Iβm going to start releasing the full rankings in groups of 50, along with breakdowns of some of the most interesting placements.
654 player-seasons. One scoring model. Rankings coming soon.
Try again tomorrow π€
Iβve always valued offensive rebounding, but I think the indirect value gets overlooked. The threat of an elite offensive rebounding team can compromise an opponentβs transition offense by default, forcing more bodies to stay back and tend to the glass.
Boston is top 5 in fewest fast-break points allowed despite losing the oREB battle in 2 of 3 games and being subpar at protecting the ball. Obviously theyβre naturally a good transition defense, but it has me thinking about how much of that value comes from the rebounding threat alone.
Amazing read, fully agree that on-ball defense is often overvalued. Think we tend to put way too much stock into individual containment when evaluating overall defensive impact. Fully recommend checking this out.π
New article about how I believe on ball defense is misevaluated. Really gonna try to be more consistent on sub, tt, and yt

No more excuses DP, I need a plethora of 3paβs out of you.
Utah Jazz star Jaren Jackson Jr. has sustained a torn MCL in his right knee and will be sidelined for 6-to-8 weeks, sources tell me and @BannedMacMahon. Jackson will not require surgery.
Coop with a .43 FTR, .30 3PR, 7.8 stop% and 73.7% from SMR, brother if he keeps this up..
Obviously the SMR and stop% are due for regression but yk what I mean.
Risacher is also unironically doing wonders alongside Coop defensively, their skill sets complement each other to an absurd degree.

This Denver team is worse than I expected, and I was lower than the consensus
