i've been quietly working on Page Lens giving feedback should be easy, and not daunting for both parties hoping to help bridge that gap for the reviewer and the builder it's imperative for great work drop me a DM if you'd like to try it out

Feels good to be back building things again. Had some pretty positive talks and tons of helpful feedback to steer the product. It’s still super early-days and there’s some polish to add. Torn in two minds, get users and get feedback or continue improving the UI I know which pays the bills and I’m opting for getting the first customers over the line. I can always refine the product later

went to a JavaScript meet-up last night and came to a similar conclusion I asked a ~8 peeps if they touch code anymore, nobody said they do… a few said sometimes at most, they read what’s going on so they can explain and have some accountability (tbh was the case with stack overflow as well) a few were CTOs and very senior guys who aren’t writing by hand anymore I feel like “vibe coding” isn’t the right term. it’s not a cute novel thing anymore, it’s more or less the way to build now
“vibe coding” is probably the worst name we could have come up with for what is genuinely a groundbreaking shift in how software is made the implication that prompting an agent somehow makes what you build less legitimate is incredible cope at the end of the day, bad software isn’t a tooling problem. it’s a skill issue, as always

The tech world’s reaction to this makes me frustrated, because if you actually spent time in and around schools you’d understand how much of a problem AI is in schools right now. Schools have no literally idea what to do about AI. No one has really figured it out yet. Especially when many of the school-specific chatbots we’re putting in front of kids are actively decreasing scores! Seems pretty obvious to me that Mandani & co spent time in schools, realized the chaos these tools are causing, and decided that we need to take a second to breathe to actually figure it out. Not that he’s anti-AI. Education might be the hardest application of AI to figure out because it’s not about efficiency. It’s not so clear cut as problem -> solution.
New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani said children need their teachers and human connection in order to learn and grow, as he announced a one-year ban on generative AI for students in preschool through eighth grade starting this school year

About a third of the way through The Count of Monte Cristo. Probably the longest book I’ve embarked on. I’m trying to keep the cogs ticking man, reading can be as addictive as scrolling
There may not be many people left in 10 years who can write, or want to read, things longer than a page or two. But there will be at least a few of us, and we'll be a powerful club.

If it wasn’t for this volcano, I wouldn’t have had a tenth of the opportunities to be the man I am today. The 1995 Soufrière Hills volcano displaced 2/3rds of island. We had a 12,000 population before the eruption and today it sits at 4,000 Nuts.

Ahh shit. I think I’ve figured it out. To not deviate from the wealth of knowledge and experience I have in the info/design/engineering space. There’s a way to change ICPs, products and services, and still add tremendous value Running an experiment next week

time to look for a co-founder. my current thought to solve is how do you build trust faster if you're not mutuals prior? context: been a solo founder for most of my projects, but want to split the workload and go further this time around

Been saying this for years. I left the country for this same reason. I love many things about England and spent 26 years there. But, the lack of bravery and cowardice runs energy from those in power runs so deeply!
The England football team lost for the same reason the country is losing: the people in charge fear taking a risk and try to hold on to what they have instead of being ambitious about the future. This attitude permeates everything and it needs to change.
