Yama, 20 years ago Zambia discovered oil and gas deposits in Chavuma and Zambezi districts.
Why have we been quite about it when it can potentially reduce the pain we are feeling at the pump 🤧

HOW OIL AND GAS DEPOSITS WERE DISCOVERED IN NORTHWESTERN PROVINCE
In 2004, Zambezi and Chavuma districts experienced prolonged wildfires, prompting the Mwanawasa administration to investigate their possible cause.
Investigations reportedly led to the identification of 12 sites in the two neighbouring districts, near the Angolan border, where traces of oil and natural gas were detected.
The prolonged fires were subsequently linked to the presence of underground oil deposits.
It has also been suggested that the fires contributed to the migration of much of the wildlife from Zambezi and Chavuma to neighbouring Angola and Western Province, leaving vast stretches of land with significantly reduced wildlife populations.
The big question is: What is stopping the government from exploring and potentially extracting the oil and gas deposits in Zambezi and Chavuma?
These discoveries deserve answers. The people of Northwestern Province need to know what became of the findings, whether further exploration was conducted and what plans, if any, the government has for these resources.

Yama, who remembers Mr Mushota Chama Chakomboka(MHRIEP)? 😂🇿🇲
Every election, the man would show up seeking the presidency, preaching that Zambia was sitting on a gold mine — literally! Gold, cobalt, lithium, oil and other riches. We laughed at him!
But his elections catchphrase was more legendary: “Vote for me first, and I’ll show you where all this wealth is!” 😂
Look at Zambia today… 👀
Were we laughing at the wrong man? 🇿🇲🤔

Have you ever wondered why Eastern Province has always had so many bicycles, with some even operating as taxis?
Well, here’s a little piece of Zambia’s forgotten industrial history! 👇🏾
Under Dr. Kenneth Kaunda’s Zambia, we used to manufacture EAGLE BICYCLES right here at home! 🇿🇲
And these weren’t your ordinary bicycles! They came equipped with a pump, a spanner and tyre-tube patches. Talk about being built for the long haul! 😂🚲
Those things were SO TOUGH that one bicycle could serve a grandfather, his son and even his grandson! 🤣🔥
Imagine buying a bicycle today and your great-grandchildren still fighting over who gets to ride it! 😂😂
Yama, we didn’t just ride bicycles back then… WE MANUFACTURED THEM!
