Some of y’all in the LGBTQ+ community, especially certain gay men who have been so aggressively attacking Nicki Minaj, have a whole lot of nerve. The same people who constantly preach about acceptance, equality, respect, and the freedom to be yourself are turning around and disrespecting this woman simply because she supports Trump. Y’all are calling her out of her name, insulting her, and speaking about her with so much hatred and aggression as if she personally did something to you.
How do you demand acceptance for your own choices and identity but refuse to extend that same respect to someone whose political views don't align with yours? You cannot preach about tolerance and individuality while expecting everybody else to think, speak, and believe exactly what you want them to. That's not acceptance. That's hypocrisy.
I'm glad Nicki isn't backing down or allowing the outrage to silence her. The more y'all try to intimidate her into silence, the more determined she seems to stand her ground. And I love that for her because why should she allow a bunch of strangers on the internet to dictate what she can and cannot believe?
