So. You've been dealt a bad hand in life? Bad upbringing? Poor circumstances? It's all out of your control, Right? There's nothing you can do about it, Right? Where you're at in life, it's not your fault, .... Right? Does this sound familiar? Is this what you tell yourself every day as you wake up to a life you hate? "It's not my fault I'm like this.." Maybe you're right. There's a lot of things in life we don't get to choose. Our starting hand is certainly one of them. But if there's one thing for certain, Where you start in life doesn't dictate where you have to end up. People have started in the pits of hell and have dragged themselves out of it. There's a lot of things that may or may not be your fault that happens to you. This won't change regardless of where you are in life. So you're presented with a choice: Do you lie down in defeat? Or do you get back up and keep moving forward? Are you going to give it your all? Or are you going to give up before even trying? I repeat: Where you started in life does not dictate where you'll end up. Your chances are only zero if you lay down like a defeated dog. Defy the odds and prove not only to yourself, but to the world that you are so much more than a bad hand of cards.

Dopamine is not the enemy. Anyone that tells you dopamine is bad, has zero idea what they're talking about. What's bad is people's addiction to it. It is the reason you get out of bed. It is the reason you strive for better. Don't demonize dopamine, Learn to use it better.

The fact of the matter is, you will never reach the full potential of your being if you're too damn prideful to admit when you've screwed up. This is why so many people have to end up hitting rock bottom before they acknowledge the fault in their actions.

Life is multi-faceted. There's no one single correct way to face and conquer life. Study science. Wrestle with philosophy. Flow with mindfulness and spirituality. No single one of these is the answer but a culmination of all of them. To ignore this is to degrade life's bounty.

Resiliency in a nutshell involves how well you handle stress. Do you: Adapt positively to challenges and setbacks in life, quickly bouncing back even stronger than before? Or do you: Adapt negatively and allow challenges and setbacks to break you and hold you back?

Entrusting your happiness in the hands of others is a recipe for a miserable life. Yet so many people spend their time and energy begging for the recognition and praise of people they don't even know.

The most go-to response to stress for most people ends up being ones that easily activate the reward system of the brain. Eating, drinking, shopping etc. Your brain wants you to feel better, and fast. Yet this is a trap. Those things mentioned, they are nothing but a distraction. Sure, they may make you temporarily feel better or forget your stress. But guess what? Whatever caused the stress... It's going to still be there waiting for you when all is said and done. Avoiding your problems doesn't make them go away. Confronting them head on does.

Manipulation Technique: Guilt-Tripping Guilt tripping is a common manipulation technique. It is one of the more popular manipulative tactics employed by those who can provoke an emotional reaction in an individual. This is employed in order to get an individual to do something they otherwise would not be inclined to do. This is achieved by tapping into the individual's sense of morality, and a desire to ‘do the right thing’ in order to compel them into taking actions (or refraining from taking actions) that has direct detrimental consequences on the individual being manipulated. The average person is aware of this technique, yet so many people fall for this regularly. Here is how to spot and counter guilt-tripping: Step 1: Identifying Who Can Guilt Trip You Only people with whom you have an emotional connection can guilt trip you. Family members, romantic partners, and friends are the primary candidates for such manipulative tactics. But strangers can also guilt trip you by appealing to your sense of morality (although the effect is not as strong as when the former group does it). Step 2: Emotions Rather Than Objectivity When a person stops talking objectively and starts appealing to your emotions, they are trying to alter your state of mind from logic to emotions. Guilt-Tripping isn’t direct. For example, the perpetrator could hint at a problem that YOU can solve and then hint at NO POSSIBLE SOLUTION, without asking for your help. They may also ask for your help, but only after making their case and placing you as the only savior. The medium through which such information is passed across usually involves the perpetrator deliberately making themselves look as helpless & miserable as possible in order to give gravity to the situation. Street beggars employ this technique. However, because most of the people they come across do not have an emotional connection to them, only some fall for it. Here, instead of employing the emotional connection between perpetrator and victim, they employ a different method of emotional coercion (which only a few fall for)… your sense of altruism and love for humanity. Yes, give money to able-bodied men who would rather sit and beg all day for years than try to fix their lives…or don’t you love humanity? By looking miserable, the intent is to make you feel privileged that you’re not in their shoes and a terrible person for not assisting. Step 3: Be Objective A general rule for avoiding manipulation is to always be objective in your thinking. It doesn’t matter who you’re relating with – be objective. Emotions cloud judgment and when you let a person choose what emotional state to put you in, they immediately take control of your thoughts and steer them in the direction most favorable to them. Sometimes objectivity isn’t appealing because you ‘feel bad.’ But this is the exact aim of the perpetrator. The thing with guilt-tripping is once you’re in that emotional state where you can no longer think clearly, your actions and decisions become automatic and you make decisions that you would otherwise not make if you were in your right senses. It is only after the deed that you realize you’ve been manipulated. A common arena where people are frequently guilt-tripped into doing things or accepting things they do not wish to accept is the romantic arena. A brief look around and you’ll notice the multitude of men and women accepting romantic partners that clearly violate their core standards for a partner, and yet they are unable to leave. This is why breakups hurt so much. A breakup does not happen in a day, it starts slowly and the relationship dies over time. It is the LEAVING part that is so difficult. And what makes it so hard is the guilt that follows. Was I wrong? Was he/she wrong? etc. You will also notice that when two people are in the intending stage of a romantic relationship, the latter issues they would face such as disrespect, infidelity, and so on and so forth are cleverly concealed. This is because the two are yet to develop a strong enough emotional attachment to each other, and of course, each reserves the willpower to leave at any time should they notice any ‘red flags.’ But after some time, when the now partners have developed a strong bond, the hidden qualities eventually rear their heads, and the unsuspecting victim is now trapped. Why so? Because now the perpetrator can guilt-trip them whenever they try to leave. Step 4: Counter The counter is simple… Be objective, and make decisions regardless of your emotions, especially when someone is trying to elicit an emotional response from you. This does not mean being emotionless. It means retaining your autonomy of thought and right to take certain actions regardless of external influences and what emotional state a person is trying to elicit from you.

Your way of life isn't the only way to live. You know that right? If the story you're telling yourself isn't leading you where you want to go.. You know you can change that.. right? If so, why are you clinging so tightly? Yes, letting go hurts, but is it any worse than living a life you hate and despise? Is it any worse than dreading every single day, jumping from one distraction to another?
