130 years ago today, on June 20th 1894 Roath Park was officially opened by the Earl of Dumfries (the son of the Marquis of Bute). To mark the anniversary, our parks team decided to 'push the boat out' and create a special bedding display by the lake. #WorkingForCardiff #Cardiff

The Sherman Theatre, Senghennydd Road, Cathays, as it used to look - opened in 1973. Part of Cardiff University, it was named after the benefactor Harry Sherman, co-owner of Sherman's football pools. #ShermanTheatre

With many of us enjoying our own and Insole Court's gardens during this time, we thought it timely to better understand how important gardens were to the Victorians. Thanks to one of our neighbours once more for the beautiful photo 🌷🌼🌺 insolecourt.org/blog/victori…

Happy Anniversary! 72 years ago today, in 1947, #CardiffCastle became Cardiff's Castle when the 5th Marquess of Bute gave the building and its grounds as a gift to the people of the city. Here's some great footage from the day... #VisitCardiff 🏰🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿

The Cefn Onn upgrade has fixed paths and enhanced access and safety. Feared there would be serious overdevelopment (see Waterloo Gardens) and remove the park’s quirkiness and mystery, but happily it’s not the case. (They’ve not even fixed the old loo block.😁)💚 #cardiff
