I loathe the fact that the "For You" feed just ignores your mute word preferences these days.

This is wild. I did NOT expect BYU to jump all the way to #2 in the polls. I figured they'd probably land in #4 or #5. xitter.cf/AP/status/211188041212…
Not a single team stayed put in this week’s AP Top 25. Miami is No. 1 for the first time since 2002 and BYU climbs to No. 2 after a historic weekend of upsets. See where your team landed: apnews.com/hub/ap-top-25-col…

Good to see Utah went up a spot as well, after that close victory over Colorado.

Notre Dame didn't fall much. #2 to #4. Helps that it was a close fight, and they can probably climb again in two weeks when they face #1 Miami.

Apparently there's a Jones Act equivalent for cruise ships if they do strictly domestic stops, which is why all of them do an international stop even if it's basically a joke. That's why river cruises in the US are so expensive compared to oceanic ones.

It's a bummer, because I think there'd be a thriving business otherwise in cruise voyages that basically do all the stops in New England and the Northeast, go down the Atlantic and Pacific Coasts, etc.

Having security mistakes with user role management isn't surprising for a company that has grown headcount as fast as OpenAI (they've increased it ten-fold in just three years, from hundreds to thousands). What is unfortunate is not owing up to the inevitable mistakes,

and instead of fixing them trying to shoot the messenger instead.

Now that they’ve finally killed off Pay for Engagement on this site, maybe we’ll finally stop seeing the 40 Millionth lazy right wing quote tweet of the “Gen Z boss and a mini” video.

Wow, "The Uprising" had some tricky marketing. I thought for certain Andrew Garfield was going to be Wat Tyler, but it looks like it's actually a Robin Hood movie.

The breakdown with the Canada trade talks shows how the Trump people just can’t resist screwing up deals - the instant a deal seems close, they interpret it as weakness and suddenly demand more, causing it to break down completely

It's a pity Trump sucks at this sort of thing, because data centers are clearly necessary infrastructure and the best way to get them built in adequate amounts would be with a similar approach to how we got cell towers built.

1)No health bans if the towers were in FCC limits, 2)No blanket ban on towers, 3)FCC had pre-emption rights if the rejection reason was not a "reasoned non-health issue".

Throw that in there with some stealth architecture, and now cell towers are everywhere. You barely even notice them.

I really wish the MCU would announce fewer new hero movies, and more movies with the existing heroes. There's an incredibly long time between sequels now.

The A-10 is never going to be retired until the Air Force agrees to cede the Fixed-Wing Close Air Support mission back to the Army, at which point the curse will be lifted.

I honestly thought the SpaceX IPO would go up higher. Musk et all know how to get the retail fanboy cult investors running hard in one direction, which in turn draws in the gamblers.

It's neat seeing "Obsession" and "Backrooms" do well, but it's worth remembering that they're successful by the standards of horror movies. A horror movie that cost $10m to make and earns $50m at the box office is a smashing success by its standard, but not much studio revenue.

The whole "shut down customs in blue state airports" is almost perversely designed to punish red state cities. Folks who still want to fly to a blue state city are still going to do it - they're just going to slam red state airport customs and then take domestic flights.

So the red state cities get all the extra challenges of having to handle a lot more customs and immigration stuff, while the blue state cities still get the visitors but don't need to bother with that anymore.
