Former ESPN writer, now I just give more bad takes on sports without getting paid for it.

So I lost access to my other account @DerekJTyson on April 16th. No idea why. 2-step verification failed, password reset didn’t work. Twitter says they can’t verify the only email address I’ve ever used for this app. Give me a follow for my subpar sports takes

There was a waiting list for season tickets in the mid-to-late 90’s for the Bucs. The atmosphere at those games were incredible. Poor leadership and some weird obsession with keeping Bowles has turned fans off. It’s a stale franchise right now
My one contribution to the unending Tampa Bay fan discourse is the local hockey team, the Lightning, is extraordinarily popular and draws remarkably well. So I think that obliterates the argument that sports by default can't work in this market.

Tip of the hat to the #Brewers. They were just the better team. Well deserved.

It’s like he didn’t learn anything from 2020
The Rays pulled Drew Rasmussen after four innings and 48 pitches. His replacement, Kevin Kelly, has allowed three consecutive singles to the Nos. 7, 8 and 9 hitters, and the Brewers now lead, 2-0.

Come on Kelly. At least be decent for an inning. Killin us

It was a smaller stadium and they averaged 100% capacity. I know the games I went to it was completely packed and had a great atmosphere

I don’t think so. Last year, the Rays played in Tampa, and they didn’t do well either.

This. My wife is from Baltimore. They plan vacations around any game in Florida.
Arguing that vacation cities are “bad sports towns" makes zero sense to me. Places like Tampa Bay, Las Vegas, and Miami will almost always have heavy away fan presence because people build entire vacations around seeing their team play there. Combine that with transplants having endless weekend options, and the dynamic is completely different than other colder, smaller markets. It’s not a knock, just reality.

Another awful Seymour outing. Thanks bud

There are about 100,000 folks from Wisconsin who have relocated/retired to the west coast of Florida. I have no problem with them being all giddy here in Tampa Bay with their Brewers a win away from their first World Series. Also, I know of ZERO Floridians that have ever retired to Milwaukee. Lol

I’d rather just take an out with Taylor Walls instead of the pain of watching him have an at bat

It’s not in Tampa, bud. It’s in St. Pete. The Lightning are one of the best franchises in sports. When the Rays are in Tampa, the support will be significantly better
I think the World Series this year is proving 2 things. 1) this Brewers team is historically good. I don't think any team in the last decade could beat them.....including the Dodgers title teams. 2) MLB has to move the Rays out of Tampa. It's pathetic. The population of that city does not give a shit. They are in the World Series and it felt like a Brewers home game. It's an embarassment to the sport. #MLB

Booser, this is easy, do the opposite of what you did last night

The Rays best player, Junior Caminero, has decided not to show up in the World Series. Awesome

Drew Brees’ @walk_ons is awesome. Really good food and TVs everywhere.
Buffalo Wild Wings is probably the best sports bar chain in America, but the food isn't great, and neither is the TV setup. There's a massive opening for someone to build a truly great sports bar chain. I've thought about doing it myself. Might still happen.

Feel like Liam Hicks needs to just put his glove over the plate for these Rays pitchers. He’s all over the place back there and they are throwing it all over the place

Hey Booser, nice job helping your team

Ray’s pitching, defense and lack of offense has been devastating. What a time to be at your worst.
