I bring this up because maybe Eagles fans have been too hard on Sean Mannion. This was always expected to be a slow start while learning a brand new offense, but look at what he’s had to deal with:
● Hurts missed 2 games, played another hurt, and is now out for the season.
● Lane Johnson retired right before Week 4.
● Saquon has finished just 2 of 7 games and RBs 2-5 are all on IR.
● DeVonta missed 3 games; Goedert missed all or parts of 3.
● Dickerson missed 5 games; Kendall missed 2.
● Wicks missed 1 game.
● Five different offensive line combinations in seven weeks, including a stretch with three backups making their first appearances.
Does this mean Mannion will become the next Andy Reid? Of course not. But there’s a difference between making excuses and recognizing legitimate reasons an offense is struggling.
Do we really need to call for his job before he’s even coached half a season?
If the Eagles get healthy and the offense still looks this bad, then the criticism is warranted. But with injuries hitting virtually every skill position and an offensive line that’s been constantly shuffled, I think it’s too early to make that judgment.
Reid’s first Eagles offense struggled, too. Nobody is saying Mannion will have the same career, but maybe we should give him time to see what he can do with a healthy roster before writing him off.
The last time the Eagles hired a first time play caller who came from Green Bay was in 1999. His name?
Andy Reid.
We all know how that turned out. Reid went on to become one of the greatest offensive minds and head coaches in NFL history. But his Eagles tenure didn’t exactly get off to a hot start.
In fact, Reid’s 1999 Eagles started 2-5 through their first seven games, just like this year’s team. And when you compare the offenses through those first seven games, the 1999 team was significantly worse than what we’re seeing in 2026:
Points Scored Per Game
● 1999: 12.86
● 2026: 18.14
Total Yards Per Game
● 1999: 205.71
● 2026: 264.86
The point isn’t that this year’s offense will turn into Andy Reid’s. Every situation is different, and there’s no guarantee of a similar outcome.
But it’s a reminder that even one of the greatest coaches in Eagles history had a rough start. Seven games don’t necessarily define a coach or the future of an offense.
It’s just too early to give up on this year’s play caller especially given all he has to put up with injury wise.

I think we’re missing the point here. No, “GHOE” nor A&T NEEDS Night Cap. But when you to agree to a million dollar production because that’s what it cost to fly people in, pay for their rooms, per diem, salary, camera equipment etc. You don’t make egregious monetary request at the last minute (which I am assuming it was given the context)
We (HBCUs myself included) complain when people don’t consider us for big events and productions and when they do we cannot treat them poorly. I’m so happy A&T will prosper in spite of but I still think it would have been nice to broadcast the school to an audience they may not have reached yet or reach the aperture point of someone who only knows them in passing.

Sir Ian McKellen has made a statement on the tragic passing of Sir Patrick Stewart.
“He wore his heart on his sleeve, which made him a man to rely on, to admire and in my case, love.”

I listened to Sean Mannion's entire press conference today, and my honest takeaway is that the Eagles have to find a way to keep him in the building long-term. It's been a nightmare of a season, but you can tell from the way he takes questions with no hesitation and real specificity that he wants to be here, is committed to the performance of his offense, and that he knows where and how to identify problems with the scheme.
The results are starting to show out there on the field, too. The Eagles scored on their first two drives against Dallas, and even with revolving doors at QB, RB, OL, and WR, Mannion is calling great plays in sequence.
I strive not to be a results-driven fan. We all see receivers getting open downfield, but when protection doesn't hold up or there are other executional failures, we only see the incompletion or the sack. Call it asinine, but I genuinely wouldn't be surprised to see Mannion's name in COTY talks 3-4 years down the road. I just hope it's for our team.
