A bit of history
The last major war before the current escalation was in 2018. Dozens were killed and over 80,000 people had to flee. This flare-up was driven by political shifts and border demarcations following Ethiopia's 2018 leadership transition.
For decades, these two pastoralist communities shared resources like water wells and grazing lands through traditional arrangements. However, official administrative restructuring turns these fluid communal lands into rigid, hard borders.
As more people cross over to Kenya from Ethiopia due to the ongoing violence the humanitarian situation in Moyale is in a dire condition

Good morning sir. Trust you're doing well.
I'm a parent in Kilimani Primary and my child is a candidate. The school wanted us to pay 2500 for food for the 4 days our kids are sitting for the exams and most of us can't afford that. They never involved parents and trying to ask for a menu fell on deaf ears.
On 16th upon realizing many parents couldn't afford the money, they told us that the 2,500 is supposed to cater for exam papers logistics and printing of leaving certificates and result slips.
Now the candidates who are carrying food from home, the school is taking the food and leaving the students to stay hungry whole day.
These are innocent kids who need to be in the right mental space to do their exam.
Please sir is there a way you can help us? Tag anyone who can help these parents. Some teachers are just cartels and extortionists!
