Honored to be named to @CrainsChicago Business 40 Under 40 this year. It’s humbling to be recognized alongside so many leaders shaping the future of our region. Grateful to everyone who’s been part of my journey — mentors, colleagues, friends, and family — and to the communities I’ve been privileged to serve. Excited to keep building, leading, and giving back in the years ahead.

Honored to be named Mayor of the Year by the United Hellenic Voters of America, a national, nonpartisan civic organization with more than 50 years of history. Thank you to United Hellenic Voters for recognizing my commitment to bringing people together, modernizing local government, addressing public health challenges and advancing economic development. Grateful to the Village staff and community partners who help turn these priorities into results for our residents.

Great to stop by King Car Wash this weekend to support my friend, Willowbrook Mayor Frank Trilla, and his family in their efforts to raise money for the National Kidney Foundation of Illinois! Now in its sixth year, this annual fundraiser is a wonderful example of how families, friends, and neighbors can come together to make a difference. Congratulations to Frank and the entire Trilla family on another successful fundraiser, and thank you for your continued commitment to such an important cause!

What an incredible evening! It was wonderful to see a packed room of more than a hundred friends, neighbors, and supporters in downtown Hinsdale last night. Alex and I are truly grateful for your friendship, encouragement, and continued support. Over the last year and a half, we’ve made tremendous progress. We’ve strengthened our financial position, invested in public safety and infrastructure, and brought a renewed focus to making local government more efficient, responsive, and accountable. I’m proud of what we’ve accomplished together, but there’s still more work to do. From modernizing Village Hall and eliminating unnecessary burdens on residents to protecting our community’s character and bringing fresh perspectives to local government, we have important work ahead. Hinsdale is an extraordinary place to call home, and I firmly believe our best days are still ahead of us. Thank you for being part of this journey!

🎃 We’ve received lots of questions about trick-or-treating hours this year, especially with Halloween falling on a Saturday! While the Village of Hinsdale does not regulate trick-or-treating hours, we recommend 3 to 8 p.m. on October 31. Please be mindful of pedestrians and help keep our neighborhoods safe. Happy Halloween!

Praying for Pope Leo XIV following the news of his lung cancer diagnosis. Grateful that his surgery was successful, and praying for his continued strength, healing, and full recovery. May God bless and watch over the Holy Father.
Pope Leo XIV's surgery confirmed that he has lung cancer and he had the lower lobe of his right lung removed, the Vatican said Tuesday. The tests confirmed a diagnosis of lung adenocarcinoma, the Vatican said in a medical bulletin after the surgery. It said the diagnosis had been suspected by preoperative tests and was confirmed during surgery.

This week, Hinsdale came together to recognize Fire Prevention Week and the incredible men and women who keep our community safe. We kicked off the week by welcoming @WGNNews Around Town to the Hinsdale Fire Department, joined the Silent Parade to honor firefighters who lost their lives in the line of duty, and celebrated with our community at the Police and Fire Departments’ annual Open Houses. It was especially meaningful to experience these events with my family and see so many children getting to know the first responders who protect our Village. A heartfelt thank you to our Hinsdale firefighters, police officers, and all first responders for everything you do. We are fortunate to have you serving our community!

Last night I joined community leaders and advocates at The Community House for a conversation about mental health resources in Southeast DuPage County. My years helping lead DuPage County’s HOPE Taskforce taught me that mental health and substance use challenges do not discriminate. No community is insulated, and most of us are only one degree of separation away from someone who has struggled. As Village President, I see the resource gap locally too. Hinsdale had to partner with three neighboring communities just to create our shared police social worker program. We should always ask tough questions about public spending. But doing nothing is not free either. What makes a strong community is not that nobody struggles. It is whether help is there when they do. Thank you to everyone who participated in last night’s discussion, and especially to my friend and fellow Hinsdalean Dr. Lanny Wilson for helping lead such an important conversation. @TCHHinsdale

One of the many reasons Hinsdale continues to be one of the most desirable places to live in Illinois: our incredible schools. Seven D181 elementary schools rank among the Top 10 in Illinois in Niche’s 2027 rankings, including the #1 and #2 schools in the state. A remarkable reflection of our students, teachers, staff and families. Proud of D181!

Community journalism matters. It keeps residents informed, tells the stories of the people and organizations that shape our community, and holds local leaders accountable - myself included! It was great to recognize @TheHinsdalean newspaper on its 20th anniversary and celebrate two decades of covering the people, events and issues that matter to Hinsdale. Congratulations to Jim Slonoff, Pam Lannom and the entire Hinsdalean team on 20 years. Here’s to the next 20! 📸 Photo credit: The Hinsdalean

Fun day at Medinah for the Presidents Cup with my dad and son. An amazing atmosphere and some pretty spectacular golf. Events like this have an impact well beyond the course, bringing thousands of visitors to the area and supporting local hotels, restaurants, businesses, and jobs. It’s also a chance to showcase DuPage County on an international stage. Not a bad way to spend a Sunday. ⛳️🇺🇸 @PresidentsCup @PGATour

Tonight we welcomed Navy Band Great Lakes to the Memorial Building to close out the Village’s official events commemorating America’s 250th anniversary. One of my priorities has been creating more opportunities for our community to come together through new gathering spaces, events and traditions. Hinsdale has always been a special place, and nights like this help strengthen what makes our community so unique. Thank you to our America250 Advisory Committee and to American Legion Post 250, The Hinsdalean, Hinsdale Historical Society, Hinsdale Chamber of Commerce, and the Hinsdale Public Library for helping make tonight possible. A fitting finale to a very special celebration. 🇺🇸 @America250

A special evening last week celebrating four remarkable additions to the Hinsdale Central Hall of Fame: Bob Clark, Brent Johnston, Adam King and Michael Kuhn. Each has made his own mark, but all four reflect the very best of our community through achievement, leadership, service and giving back. It was an honor to help celebrate this year’s class. Congratulations to all four on a very well deserved recognition.

Big things are happening in Hinsdale. Gateway Square is a great example of what can happen when we identify places with real potential and help create the conditions for reinvestment. With new ownership, new businesses and more improvements ahead, this important corner of town is gaining real momentum. I’m proud to support that progress and help make Hinsdale an even stronger place to invest and do business.

It is always exciting to welcome a new business to Hinsdale, but this one was especially meaningful. I had the chance to cut the ribbon at The Book Nook, opened by our dear friend and Hinsdale resident Alison Kozlow. Alison has talked for years about her dream of opening a bookstore, driven by her love of reading and her passion for childhood literacy. Seeing her turn that dream into something real, right here in the community she calls home, was pretty incredible. It also means a lot when a Hinsdale resident chooses to invest in Hinsdale. The Book Nook is exactly the kind of local business that adds to the character of our community. We also celebrated the opening of Paris312, another great new addition to Gateway Square. Gateway Square has long had untapped potential, and it is exciting to see new ownership, new investment and new businesses bringing fresh energy to this part of town. Congratulations to our new business owners. We’re proud of you and so happy to have The Book Nook and Paris 312 in Hinsdale.

Proud to proclaim September as National Service Dog Month in Hinsdale. Service dogs provide life changing support and greater independence to people with disabilities, while organizations like Canine Companions help make those partnerships possible. Thank you to Hinsdale resident Ryan Williams for bringing this important issue forward and for joining us at Village Hall today to receive the proclamation.

Tonight, for the second year in a row, we turned Village Hall red and white for Hinsdale Central Homecoming. There are a lot of ways to measure the strength of a community, but one of the most important is whether people feel connected to the place they live. Do we show up for one another? Do we have traditions that bring us together? Hinsdale Central does that for this community. From football to girls lacrosse, the band, theater, clubs and everything in between, our students build more than school pride. They build community pride. Great to have more than 100 students, coaches, alumni and members of the Central community with us tonight. Special thanks to Principal Bill Walsh, Coach Brian Griffin, varsity captains Owen Sunderson, John Breton, Tommy Riordan, and James Skokna, HCHS Hall of Fame Inductee Adam King, and EDC Chair Jill Sunderson for helping organize such a great evening. Proud to see the Memorial Building in red and white. Go Red Devils! Hinsdale Central Football Hinsdale Central High School @HCRedDevilFB @ThisIsHCHS

The @chicagotribune highlighted Hinsdale’s strong housing market today, including the continued demand for homes at the high end of the market. It’s another encouraging sign of confidence in our community. Great schools, beautiful neighborhoods, a vibrant downtown and a strong sense of community continue to make Hinsdale a place where people want to put down roots. Proud to call it home.
