I told my friend a few days back that HxH is not in the big 3 convo majorly because it was rushed….they could’ve been more patient and even used time skips so we can see Gon and Killuas’ full potentials. A properly evil Meruem against peak Gon and Killua would’ve been a banger

The Chimera Ant Arc at its core is really a reflection of the good and bad of humanity through the lens of another species rapidly assimilating our sentience, ideologies and hypocrisies and destroying our leverage to rule
Watching the Chimera Ants learn Nen in Hunter x Hunter made me realize this arc is genuinely a horror movie.

For anyone who found that overly wordy - it’s as if another superior form of human showed up, and started imposing human shit on us, all the while generating their own humanity and justification

One of Togashi’s greatest feats and I could never yap enough about it
The thing I love about hxh is how Togashi has written a well-rounded world where the MCs feel like just one part of it rather than the center of everything. The other characters aren't just there to make our MCs shine. They have their own identity and story and It's beautiful.

Not only it gets better, but you also keep discovering details you didn't notice in your last watch. And that's what really keeps you engaged. A lot of the characters can also be viewed from many different perspectives, which makes them feel more real and fun to explore.

Welfin is one of the most fascinating analyses in Hunter x Hunter and some of the genius Togashi pours into him is so, so subtle

Comic store at the mall had this tapestry hanging right by the door how did they know I would walk by and see it (and immediately purchase it)

Why do people mischaracterize Ging so badly? He literally embodies absolute freedom and the pursuit of the unknown. The very core definition of what a Hunter is (“enjoy the little detours”). It’s so frustrating watching a deeply complex character get mischaracterised…

I also recently wonder if the bottomless malice within the human race that Netero refers to Pariston. We’ve effectively seen his “superpower” so far as being able to wield people’s own insufficiencies (Cheadle/Mizai) and flaws (Netero/Teradein) against them. It can expand.
