Wonder why many people move to the US? The size of the market is so big that there is so much space for everyone. I saw someone post on LinkedIn on how people should pay attention to Africa GDP and how it’s going to reach $4.5 trillion in 2030. Bro the gdp of California is $4.5 trillion TODAY!

I refreshed the WeWire Invest dashboard more times last week than I’d like to admit.
On 15 October, we opened our first tokenised trade deal to our existing audience and gave it two weeks. I expected a slow build: people reading the questions, maybe waiting to see who went first.
That’s not what happened. Instead, 46 investors stepped in and fully funded the entire 1,250,000 GHS allocation with more than a week to spare. A standard bank facility for this kind of import can take 30 to 90 days of paperwork and waiting. Doing it in 7 days on-chain proves what is possible when technology, physical custody, and forward-thinking regulation align.
What moves me isn’t the speed. It’s who showed up. Almost every one of those investors already knew us. They had trusted WeWire with their payments, and they chose to trust us with something new. As a founder, you don’t get a better vote of confidence than that.
None of this happens without the SEC Ghana Virtual Asset Sandbox. Building inside it has been one of the best decisions we’ve made. Every conversation with the SEC team pushed us to think harder about investor protection, transparency and how ordinary people experience a product like this. We built a better product because the regulator was in the room, not in spite of it. That is how innovation in African capital markets should work.
We’re only getting started. More deals, more issuers, and more ways for everyday people to back real trade are on the way.
Thank you to our first investors, to ML Ecodrive for going first with us, and to a team that refused to cut corners.
We’ve published the full case study with all the behind-the-scenes data and testing takeaways:

I've spent so much time working on KONK!, so being able to play it with my sister right inside iMessage is honestly such a special feeling.
It's moments like this that make all those late nights worth it.
Of course, my sister doesn't care how long it took me to build. She just wants to beat me at my own game.😂

What a privilege it was to be part of two incredible days at #AVAS2026 in Accra 🔥
We shared a room with regulators, policymakers, builders and investors, all coming together to shape the future of virtual assets in Africa. Along the way, we gave people a first look at what we’ve been building, and our CEO, Ebenezer Ghanney, got to share his perspective on the panel and with the press on how virtual assets can help build a more trusted and inclusive financial future for the continent.
A big thank you to the organisers, partners and everyone who stopped by and connected with us. We’re leaving with great memories and even greater inspiration, and there’s so much more to come 🙌

Highlight of Day 1 at AVAS2026 in Accra 🇬🇭
It was a room filled with regulators, policymakers, builders and investors, all coming together to shape the future of virtual assets in Africa. Throughout the day, tokenization, trust and inclusion kept coming up in every conversation, and it was clear that everyone in that room shares the same vision.🔥
We were proud to be part of it and to share a first look at what we’ve been building. Grateful to everyone who stopped by, and there’s more to come

Short of cash while the deal sits waiting to settle?.. Here's what trade tokenisation looks like in real life.
Esi has a container of rice ready to ship and buyers waiting. But she can't pay her supplier, and her bank can't lend to her. 🧵 1/8
