What's something you've been wanting to create for years? You've likely put it off for many reasons: Not enough time Something else takes your focus Perhaps you just enjoy dreaming about it The end product seems too daunting Maybe your interests have changed and you can't even remember why you wanted to create it in the first place It happens to us all at some point. There are two forces at work here - your mind and your heart/voice. Your mind (the dwarf energy as we call it) is focused on the execution, the doing, the tactics, the fear. Your heart (the elf) just wants to express and be. It doesn't know fear, shame, ego. As a kid, you don't know these limitations. These learned limitations that we place on ourselves as we grow older. As a kid your imagination and playfulness runs wild and free, and you experience life with so much cognitive awe and wonder. As adults, we can still get back to this place. But it takes real work, new behaviors, rituals, habits and routines. And accountability - either from within (hard mode) or from a like-minded community on the same journey. Take a moment and reflect. This thing you've wanted to create for years...do you still really want to? Will you ever? Has it changed? Curious what folks here think. Would love to hear your stories, dreams, and the barriers that keep you from them.

What from last week will you still be telling people about next month?

“How do you get your spark back” I think you start by giving yourself permission to be a person, not just someone who's constantly trying to survive. Do the little things that used to make you happy, even if they don't feel the same at first. Rest without feeling guilty, reconnect with yourself, and stop pressuring yourself to have everything figured out. Sometimes, finding your spark isn't about becoming who you used to be. It's about slowly discovering who you are after everything you've been through.

What shapes the way you write? A person? A piece of media? The past? Education? Something else?

Gerhard's number one test for what we build: "Do we have fun ourselves with this? And if not, we're moving on." This week I built him a little D&D-style game using his pixel art and we played it live on our podcast. The answer was yes. levityfield.com/p/10-billion…

I used to always say that I liked making people feel good. But I've come to realize, I'm not here to make anyone do anything. So i've updated it to: I like creating the space where you can just be yourself. Because you already know what you need.

What is something you only ever did once and then spent years thinking about doing it again, but still haven't?

I used to measure success in money, title and achievement. Now it's freedom, peace, joy and community. From my conversation with @lisa_thee on GO! Reboot Your Life.

You get 3 (dead or alive) people for a DnD campaign, costumes and all. Who are you bringing with you and who is the dungeon master? Bonus points for class selection and world specifics.

We all have stories to tell. And we all need to hear them.

It's Inktober. If you haven't drawn since you were a kid, start with whatever you drew back then. What was it for you?

An Uber driver in Asheville handed me a dollar bill when I got in. I told him I didn't need it. Turns out he gives one to every rider, just to see how they respond. Some take it. Some pay it forward to the next. There’s a lot of traveling nurses there, where that dollar means a lot to them. For us, it was a conversation starter. What's the smallest thing a stranger did that you still remember?

Inward, upward, outward. This is the way.
Jung's words on finding your own path: “What is to come will be created in you and from you. Hence look into yourself. Do not compare, do not measure. No other way is like yours. All other ways deceive you and tempt you. You must fulfill the way that is in you.”
