Dear physicians: when a patient has cancer everywhere, is dying, and comes to you for pain management, the answer is NOT 1mg morphine PO q4h.
They are DYING. No one should die in pain. The risk of addiction is zero.
Please, PLEASE prescribe adequate end of life analgesia.

The stats on doctor suicide is horrifying.
Be horrified too, by the sheer number of doctors who are disillusioned, disengaged and disempowered.
The crisis begins way upstream. The solutions need to start up there.
