The goddess Hathor, revered as the patroness of the western realm of the dead, is depicted in the form of a sacred cow emerging from the western mountains of Thebes, amidst the flourishing papyrus thickets that fringe the Nile Valley.
Around her neck hangs a menyet necklace, distinguished by its loosely strung rows of beads and pendulum-shaped counterpoise.
