Curate a library you'll actually play, that's the only thing you need to do. Emulation handheld or modded console the same idea applies. I use my retroid pocket 5 more than my PC some months. If I had a thor it'd probably be every month real shit id be bringing it to work.
Maybe this is a personal take, but This is the same reason stuff like Ayn Thor, or subscription servers with 100+ options at launch or hacking stuff n bla bla is not as appealing because games aren’t like songs/movies where u just listen for a few minutes or invest an hour or 2 for a show/movie. A game is a commitment and when u have so many options at once you kinda just get choice paralysis or play a bit of each and never get invested. I think the Novelty is stronger than the actual desire LOL.
It’s kinda why I understand Nintendo adding NSO games consistently as opposed to just having the whole library dropped there day 1
