He told Donahue that if a teenager kills themselves over one of his songs, that's exactly what they deserve. "They weren't contributing anything to society. It's one less idiot in the world." The parents sat three feet away while he said it. He named himself by combining Marilyn Monroe and Charles Manson - positive and negative on the same celebrity platform. After Columbine, he was blamed for influencing the shooters. No connection was ever proven. He said he received hundreds of death threats. A bomb threat came in during one of his Halloween shows after a year of rumors he planned to kill himself on stage that night.
