These views don’t reflect how the average Nigerian lives. Ghana is ahead of Nigeria in several areas, particularly electricity and internet access per capita.
Today, let me focus on just one thing, public transportation. Compare the average public transport vehicles in Ghana and Nigeria. Look at the seats in the left picture. They have foam padding and are at least comfortable, while the ones on the right are literally wooden benches. Imagine sitting on those during a long journey on a bad road. You’d probably get home with a sore backside. A country’s progress is not just buildings and car views . It’s also about how comfortable everyday life is for the average person. Nigerians living in Ghana can testify to this.

Four Ghanaians have been killed in gun violence incidents in the United States in 2026, with justice yet to be served:
1. Akpene Tetteh – February 12, 2026: The 37-year-old PhD student at Virginia Commonwealth University was shot in broad daylight.
2. Lai Solomon – May 31, 2026: The 33-year-old nurse and health content creator was shot by an armed robber in Oakland, California.
3. Dr. Kofi Akamani – September 19, 2026: The 48-year-old forestry professor at Southern Illinois University was shot multiple times.
4. Javits Frimpong – October 29, 2026: The 15-year-old was shot in the abdomen while walking to school in the Bronx, New York, just a year after arriving in the United States.
