This house in Siddhartha Layout, Mysuru, has Character
These people put their hearts into it. It’s not just a box.
It’s not what I would have designed, but I like it.
What’s the actual need for an open kitchen? Locally and Internationally?
Why do people like open kitchens in their homes?
Just curious
Open kitchen is not fit for Nigerian homes because of our strong spices.
The best you can do is adapt it to fit our needs by using a transparent aluminum sliding door to demarcate the kitchen from the living room - giving the vibe of the open kitchen while protecting your space from the strong smell and heat..

Without hesitation. This will be a favourite space in a home for me if the view os also good enough.

This is an Ayurvedic Center in Kerala, India that I designed. Everything is part of the experience of Ayurveda and Vastu coming together. It’s a whole design. All the senses.

I read the news about the lawmaker who died after slipping in his bathroom, and it got me thinking about how we can reduce the impact of bathroom accidents.
Can we start exploring cushioned wall coatings instead of leaving hard tiles exposed in bathrooms? Something like a waterproof, foam-backed wall covering that absorbs impact.
So if at all someone slips and hits their head against the wall, the cushioning could reduce the severity of the injury.
Builders, what do you think?
