Roger Ver was there for me when I was down and needed help. Now Roger needs our support.
No one should spend the rest of their life in prison over taxes. Let him pay the tax (if any) and be done with it. #FreeRoger

Roger Ver (known as 'Bitcoin Jesus') faces extradition to the U.S. and a sentence of up to 109 years if he is convicted. His crime? He didn't commit one, but that doesn't matter in the age of American Lawfare. What Roger did do was promote a revolutionary decentralizing technology that radically empowers citizens, and disempowers central banks and governments. His advocacy enraged the regime in exactly the same way that Julian Assange's journalism did--and the regime responded with the same diabolical toolkit.
Roger Ver deserves a pardon to end his legal nightmare. And we citizens of the West need him to get that pardon in order to return us to the principle of Equal Protection Under the Law.
Change is in the air. Let's make sure Roger's case becomes a priority and doesn't slip through the cracks. Please sign the petition and rebroadcast this message.
Information on the case is on the website.

Disappointed to see IRS go after Roger Ver after all these years.
@rogerkver is one of the most authentic, idealistic, and kind people you will meet in crypto.
Short story, when Purse was just getting off the ground, BofA suddenly froze our bank account, and we weren’t going to be able to meet payroll and rent the following week.
I sent an email to Roger asking if he could help. He mailed us an expedited check the same day, no questions asked. At the time, I’d never met him in person, and he didn’t ask for proof, interest on the loan, or when he’d be paid back.
I’ve heard similar stories from founders about how Roger bent over backwards to help them. Crypto would not be where it is without him. Hope he gets out of this situation unscathed.

What is this attack? Can you describe it detail? What profits are to be had? Also, can the attack be mounted in such a way that it does not diminish the value of BTC itself? If not, there is very little incentive to attempt such an attack.

Yes, I was thinking of Handshake which does use the DNS. Without a DNS registrar for .coin, there’s an open race. ICANN laying claim to .coin meant UD either had to DNS-register the subdomains it had sold already, or stop supporting them. I think Handshake has the winning design.

Ah, I remember Zilliqa: the project that plagiarized my schnorr code by using it and removing the license.
In other words, you were running on my code. Do I get to sue now? How does this work? Please teach me.

@VitalikButerin was correct, but didn't go far enough. The braindead stupidity of pay-once-own-forever cannot be overstated. If the protocol doesn't require owners to periodically prove control of keys, you'll end up with an entire ecosystem of dead high-value names very quickly.
