Having spent a bit of time in XML land again, it's crazy to think that this is a complete alternate evolutionary path where trees of heterogenous nodes are the substrate instead of the JSON object model.
It's complete with its own schema, query, and pipelining languages.
Now the world is full of trees (ASTs, CST, telemetry span trees, LLM conversation trees, etc), but we have collectively forgotten about the parallel tree universe.
This is why orbs are powerful: @AmpCode could test this feature end to end on Linux, Windows, and Mac, and was sending me regular videos of how things work.
My work was thinking at high level through all the "what if..." scenarios and guiding the agent toward a solution.

I wanted:
- no lock-in to one AI lab
- cloud agents that can’t touch my laptop
- to stay connected to the code, even when I don’t write it by hand
For months I’ve done all my coding in a tool that does exactly that. Today I’m shipping it. It's free. 🧵
Do yourself a favor and read about Statecharts.
They take all the pain out of distributed systems, are free (yay, ideas - point your agent at SCXML!), and agents love the local reasoning they enable.
Interactive demo of having the agent port Pi Durable over to statecharts:

Come talk to us in New York and learn how we push to main all the time without it ending in total chaos:

Agents are *not* just about writing code: they also change how you test, monitor release, review changes, and react to alerts.
Listening to @dhh's #RailsWorld 2026 keynote: Rails is great for web applications, Rust is better for writing a performant mail server, and native apps on multiple platforms are now in reach of a small team.
I didn't hear a thing about abandoning Rails or using Rust for everything
I'm using Ruby scripts as the build system for a C project.
It's the first time I'm noticing the agent doing mutation testing unprompted.
I blame you @mbjschirp
If we organized a meetup there, who'd come?
Oh snap there’s a whole village in Hungary dedicated to no more slop en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Noszlo… nice find @_dhamidi
I think I finally found the right thing to diff during change review.
It's not code.
You already have it.
It works better with an orb, but doesn't require one.
This is the power of orbs
love @AmpCode, i have shipped more code in the last 24 hours than I did all last week. never go back to local dev.
Replying to @marlene_zw
@marlene_zw do you know anybody who is working on the official Github MCP server?
Dumping raw API responses with kilobytes of JSON into the context window makes it basically unusable :(
And since the tools don't declare output schemas, codemode also doesn't work well
Why you can't push to main at $WORK
Can't wait for MCP being as easy to use as a website.
Again, it's a delivery mechanism and it's good at that, the clients just suck.
I want one-click "plug this into my workspace" setup and support for MCP Apps, and I want every service to ship their functionality via MCP.
Then I can ask my own agent to build an bespoke UI for me in an orb.
MCP solves a distribution problem.
By now I'm convinced now that shipping applications over HTTP/OAuth MCP is really useful.
Ultimately, either your app grows an agent, or your agent gets to use the app via tools.
MCP makes that really easy and you can ship new tools like you'd ship a web site.
If only we had a good client that makes interacting with MCPs as easy as interacting with a browser.
