Hots&Cots has never been my full-time job. It’s been nights, weekends, and vacation days.
My day job has been almost 13 years at Microsoft, most recently as a senior iOS engineer. I’m part of this round.
So I’m open to two things:
* A full-time senior iOS role, building apps or the platforms behind them.
* Contract work. If you need an iOS, Android, or web app built end to end, that’s how I built Hots&Cots.
DMs are open. Hots&Cots isn’t going anywhere.
BREAKING: Microsoft, $MSFT, is offering buyouts to 60,000 workers as part of the company’s efforts to cut costs amid AI adoption, per Bloomberg.
Personnel on select teams in the US, Canada, India, and the UK at a vice president level and below will be eligible.
This reflects ~27% of Microsoft's total workforce.

In the 1.300 years of Muslim-Arab slave trade, approximately a million Greek Christians were sold as slaves. Greek girls who were pretty were forced into prostitution after being enslaved to Turks who took all their earnings. Women captives were known to be subjected to sexual abuse.
After Chios Massacre (March 30, 1822) where the Muslim Turks slaughtered 42.000 Christian Greeks, 52.000 women and children were sold as slaves in the markets of Smyrna & Constantinople.
On September 1, 1821, Samothrace was devastated by the Ottomans through a general massacre, 10.000 men & boys were slaughtered while women & children were sold also in the markets of Constantinople & Smyrna. Only those who converted to Islam survived.
On July 14, 1821, 486 Greeks of Cyprus were publicly beheaded because they didn't convert to Islam.
On 13-22 September 1922, thousands of women (Greeks and Armenians) were mass raped and slaughtered in Smyrna from the Islamic horde, the Young Turks, who were motivated by racial and religious hatred. Only those who converted to Islam survived. They aimed the Christians of Anatolia and tried to erase our Greek footprint. They failed.
On 6-7 of September 1955, during the Constantinople pogroms, Muslim Turks committed rapes againt the Greek community of the City. Hundreds of women expelled and raped. Now there is a minotiry of less than 2.000 Greeks living in the city that their ancestors found, Constantinople.
In 1974, the Muslim Turks invaded the island of Cyprus and raped in the name of their god thousands of Greek women from 12 to 71 years old. Even the Church of Cyprus had consented through its tolerance to the amendment of the legislation in 1974, so that the abortions of that period became legal.
Women captives were known to be subjected to sexual abuse. Male Muslims were given the right to have sex with female captives (slaves), which was phrased: "those men who guard their genitals, except with their wives and those whom their right hands possess, for then there is no blame" (Quran 23:6), which granted men the right to have sex not only with their wives but also with female captive slaves.
Islam is an enemy for every woman.
Anyone who willingly supports the Islamic invasion against native Europeans is a traitor to his or her own kind and ancestors.
Picture: This is a Greek slave captured by the Muslim Turks during the Ottoman period. The sign writes: "ΡΟΔΟΝ ΕΤΩΝ ΙΗ ΠΩΛΕΙΤΑΙ ΜΝΑΣ Ω" which means: "Rose, eighteen years old for sale, for 800 mnas".
If you want to support me in the effort I’m making, please consider becoming a subscriber to my X account for only $2. I write about the ancient, medieval, and modern history of Greece and what Christians went through because of Islam. Always with primary sources and historical facts. Thanks for reading me and for all the support.

Very important note on the PHP thing:
PHP's official guidance says 8.2.x-8.5.x is affected.
They aren't.
Rather they are, but everything back to 5.4.x is vulnerable. I've independently verified this in my own lab.
They're just only releasing patches for 8.2.x-8.5.x.
DO NOT THINK that if you're running 8.1.x or earlier, you're safe.
You're not.
So, two big things this morning:
1. A Certificate Authority (CA) was stupid and used a ridiculously-easily-guessable value for its private keys. Which means the entire SSL/TLS chain of trust is broken.
This means anyone can impersonate any site, and you won't be able to tell, because the site certificate will be legitimate (in fact, the only way you COULD tell is to know that eMudhra wasn't in the chain of trust for the site before, but is now).
Anything that checks/processes certs needs to be updated, to revoke the CA's certs. That means computers, phones, video game consoles, smart appliances, and a ton of phone apps and computer programs. And a lot of them don't have patches ready yet.
2. There's going to be an announcement later today of a vulnerability that's being exploited right now that allows anyone to take over any computer running a website that uses PHP, with a single request. It does not require authentication. If you're running any websites using any version of PHP, research "PHP2Shell" immediately, and take the necessary mitigation steps ASAP. Like I said, this is already being exploited right now, but once the announcement's official, the internet's gonna get slammed with people trying to take control of millions of computers worldwide.

This class hits right in the gap of my own training, so it exposed a BUNCH of things that I need to work on, which is exciting. If you can get to one I highly recommend it.

They are going to try to bury this story because it doesn't fit the narrative. Don't let them. This father rushed into the school and within 2 minutes had eliminated the murderer. This story is a lesson and it cannot be forgotten

Trump will always talk a big game, make you think things are happening, then pussy out when there's any sort of backlash

20 years ago, if you were a pothead it was an underground activity. Get caught, straight to jail. Have over a certain amount? Felony. Have any amount of weed and a gun, felony. Straight to jail.
Now, weed is legal in 24 states, 3 US territories, and decriminalized in an additional 7. Medical marijuana is legal in 41 states, and 4 U.S. territories (plus 8 additional states with low-THC/CBD-specific laws).
It's now gone from a schedule 1 to schedule 3 drug. The DEA doesn't even actively pursue individual users or state-licensed, compliant medical and recreational cannabis businesses. Federal policy and congressional protections (such as the Rohrabacher–Farr amendment) prevent federal prosecution of individuals and entities following state medical laws.
Why am I bringing this up?
Look at the wins potheads achieved.
Now, let's look at gun rights...what just happened with NFA items and the ATF...and you guys are blackpilling?!

Isaias made landfall and our DM’s are open.
If any of our SMC family or people you may know that are in need please reach out in this thread or via DM.
Talking to folks in the area and they are going to let me know if anything can be done to help at this point.
Will be roasting and shipping all day while we gather info and may do a drive later if we start getting short on funds we already have saved up.

GM Family.
Hurricane Isaias is on the way to the panhandle. For those that have followed us for a long time, y’all know we always go help out clearing debris, trees, hand out food, cash, etc.
Just a few notes before it hits.
If you have a place to go out of the hurricane’s path….do it. You can’t beat Mother Nature.
If you plan on helping in aftermath. Some helpful tips to be more useful.
Don’t go to help clean up with a vehicle in questionable shape. More people break down going to help than you can imagine….
Overloaded trailers, shitty vehicles….and although intentions are good, you are now causing more traffic in a place that doesn’t need it.
Don’t take up hotel rooms when you’re helping….local people without homes or shelter will need those.
Cleanup wise if you wait 3 days after a hurricane and drive a neighborhood….we notice the people that haven’t started cleaning up are usually elderly or disabled…knock on the door and they probably can use your help.
Lastly be vigilant and be armed. @DirtyHand77 and I have spent nights sleeping in our trucks while cleaning up neighborhoods after a hurricane….when it gets dark, thieves come out. And it’s not just a thing that rarely happens….we saw gangs of motorcycles running around the Tampa area at night checking houses.
If any of you guys need any help before or after it lands please give us a shout.
God Bless
-E
