I've been out all morning clearing roads blocked with trees, helping stranded drivers and towing cars from snowdrifts. In Northumberland off the A68 This is what rural people do on the winter they help strangers, they don't ask payment..it was my diesel, £75 quids worth, my ropes, my PSE, my chainsaw, my modified 4x4, my snow tyres, my forest hooks, my saw petrol (£20) my chain oil, my blades and my time. We don't expect thanks and we don't ask for money. All my farmer neighbours have been out neglecting their livestock to check people are OK first. They now have a long day in the cold caring for sheep and cattle. Tell me @Keir_Starmer @RachelReevesMP @SteveReedMP @Ed_Miliband what's the weather like in Islington today? A bit wet and windy no doubt. This is what rural communities do in the winter. We look after strangers when they get into trouble, we keep the roads clear and motorists safe and we don't ask payment. I wonder how many of my farmer neighbours caught up in your schemes are wondering if they'll still have a job in 5 years time?
