An incredible metaphor for entrepreneurship:
"If you're sailing across the ocean and your goal is to avoid weather and waves, then why the hell are you sailing? You have to embrace that sailing means that you can't control the elements and that there will be good days and bad days and that, whatever comes, you will deal with it because your goal is to eventually get to the other side. You will not be able to control exactly how you get across. That's the game you've decided to be in. If your goal is to make it easier and simpler, then don't get in the f*cking boat."

The coding interview is dead, at least for my team at Anthropic. I've seen enough to know that it no longer provides signal. I removed it from loops this month.
I have a spicy, optimistic take - I think there's an opportunity for junior engineers: felixrieseberg.com/hunger-be…

Saying there’s no reason to buy Bitcoin because anyone can create a cryptocurrency is like saying there’s no reason to learn English because anyone can invent a language.

Hardware looks scary until you break it down into small steps. So I built an app that takes you through Arduino one circuit at a time.

A strong Physical AI company needs some combination of:
1. Painkiller use case: expensive, dangerous, repetitive, dirty or labor-constrained work.
2. Clear ROI: customer payback measurable in months, not an abstract productivity story.
3. High utilization: a $100k robot working 2 hours/day has very different economics from one working 18.
4. Reliability: demo success ≠ production reliability.
5. Low intervention rate: constant teleoperation can destroy the economics.
6. Deployment velocity: how quickly can you go from signed customer → productive robot?
7. Uptime / MTBF: how often does something physically break?
8. Field service: who repairs it, how quickly, and at what cost?
9. Deployment repeatability: does every new customer require a custom engineering project?
10. Workflow integration: how much does the customer need to change around the robot?
11. Safety: what is the cost of failure in the real world?
12. Data flywheel: does every deployment make the system better?
13. Fleet learning: can what robot #100 learns improve robot #1,001?
14. Gross margin after reality: maintenance, installation, teleoperation, spare parts and on-site support all count.
15. Form-factor advantage: why does this task need this embodiment at all?
The biggest Physical AI companies won’t be built on the best demos. They’ll be built on the best real-world economics.

Success is determined by how precisely match your genuine curiosity to the work you do.

Everyone will tell you to "go easy" on yourself, but no one achieves great things that way.
Great people are brutally hard on themselves, expect 200x more of themselves than of others, and hold a standard that is incredibly high.
More should be "hard on themselves."
