With yesterday’s hot CPI print, October rate hike odds jumped to 48.5%, yet overnight markets swung back to pricing a 70% chance of a hold 👀 Here’s the bigger picture... The October FOMC meets just days before the midterms. Trump wants easier financial conditions, while a hike would tighten them further. The Fed can't let politics dictate policy, but with only PPI due before the meeting, policymakers have limited new inflation data to assess whether September's CPI signals a renewed trend. Why rush into another hike when December gives them more data and time to reassess? That is why my base case remains a hold in October with December still live. #CPI #FOMC
