Most "onchain IP" projects focus solely on tokenizing an IP asset (music, anime, etc.) and selling the tokenized shares.
This is boring.
I think putting IP onchain should also mean putting its properties onchain. The more the chain knows about an asset, the more you can build on it.
For music, that starts with the sound file. Sound files have properties that can be measured: channels, bit depth, sample rate and samples per channel.
Divide the samples by the sample rate and you get the duration. A track with 10,584,000 samples at 44.1 kHz is exactly 240 seconds long.
Duration matters because listening is measured in time. New business models like "per-second listening" can't be built and trusted if the blockchain has no idea how long a song is. Btw, this is what people mean when they say "onchain attention economy".
But it only works if the data is true.
If anyone can fill in the fields, someone will say their 30-second clip is an hour long, and every contract that reads it pays out on a lie.
At @_misofm, we believe the endgame for onchain music should extend beyond tokenizing music catalogs. Instead, the catalogs themselves and their audio files should be fully composable and programmatic assets with rich onchain data models.
Our Nautilus-based audio attestation service brings us one step closer to this amazing future. With @SuiNetwork and Nautilus, we're able to ingest an audio file and make an onchain attestation that ties technical properties (bit depth, sample rate, etc.) to a PCM digest and a @WalrusProtocol blob ID.
Check out how it works below!

Probably one of the busiest booths at Basecamp this year. It was nonstop for both days. Appreciate everyone that came through and learned more about @_misofm with us!

"You have to be moronic to think agents are going to choose anything other than Miso for agentic music publishing and distribution."
I would like to bring your attention to what could be the fattest PTB on @SuiNetwork mainnet.
devxplorer.io/?search=FNixDB…
On Sui, "programmable transaction blobs" (PTBs) can contain up to 1024 individual function calls that execute atomically (all or nothing).
The transaction above publishes four compositions and recordings, attaches various metadata and business logic extensions, assembles a release, and schedules a sale on @_misofm.
All in all, 417 function calls orchestrated and executed in a single transaction.
Absolutely breathtaking.
You have to be moronic to think agents are going to choose anything other than Miso for agentic music publishing and distribution.
Stay tuned.

Join @_smkotaro, @_smbrian, and @EmanAbio live tomorrow as they discuss the future of music ownership.
Artists get paid last and slowest. Fans pay for years and own nothing. We’ll talk about how @_misofm on Sui fixes this.

What people don't realize about @_misofm is that every dollar spent there is a dollar that didn't come onchain to gamble or farm incentives. On Miso, users onramp money to buy music and enjoy it. I'm excited to explore how we can leverage this new non-speculative capital inflow to help support @SuiNetwork's DeFi protocols. To start off, we're already beta testing @suilendprotocol positions in the Miso app. Users will be able to opt in and lend a % of their stablecoin position on Suilend. Consumer DeFi is coming to Sui, and it starts with Miso.
Our launch artist @_gatewaygirl_ has already earned over $500 in royalties from record sales on Miso.
That's roughly the equivalent of 125,000 streams on legacy platforms like Spotify!
And instead of waiting months for a payout, those royalties reached her within seconds of each purchase.

Just bought my first music record on @_misofm!🍵
That's so old school!
It actually super new school!
Now I actually own a digital music record!
My ownership is stored on chain @SuiNetwork while the music file sits on @WalrusProtocol a decentralized storage network.
It's my record!
I own it and I can listen to it as long as I want!
And the coolest thing: the artist gets 100% of the record price! Revolutionary!
You own your music and be happy!🎵
Miso is now live on beta.
Our first record, from @_gatewaygirl_, drops tomorrow at 8PM ET.
Get in early and set up your account.

For the past year, @_gatewaygirl_ has helped shape Miso: testing early builds, telling us what worked, and trusting us with her music first.
Her record starts at $20. Every cent goes to her and her team, and you're always free to give more.
Come celebrate with her live on Friday at 9AM ET
