The National Service Authority has commenced screening and medical exams for volunteer Basic Military Training. Director-General Ms. Ruth Dela Seddoh welcomed the initial cohort, urging steadfast commitment. Envisioned by President John Dramani Mahama and conducted with the Ghana Armed Forces under Act 1119, the four-week programme instils fitness, discipline, and resilience through drills, weapon safety, and self-defense. Completing this training counts toward national service, and participants secure their standard agency postings afterward. Seddoh assured them of her unwavering support.

The National Service Authority has begun screening and medical examination for Basic Military Training, drawing in personnel who volunteered for the programme. The Director-General, Ruth Dela Seddoh, flanked by her two deputies, welcomed the first batch on site. She commended them for taking up the initiative to participate in the military screening and encouraged them to stay committed as the process continues. The programme is the vision of His Excellency President John Dramani Mahama, who wants young graduates to develop fitness, discipline and resilience through short military training as part of national service. It is delivered with the Ghana Armed Forces under the National Service Authority Act, 2024 (Act 1119). The four week programme covers basic military drills, disaster preparedness and management, safe weapons handling, self defence and crisis management. It forms part of the service period, and NSPs are to report back to their place of postings after the training. Madam Seddoh wished them well and assured them of her full support throughout.

Hello, kindky reach out via dms and let's get to the bottom of this.
The National Service Authority needs to get their staff in check. It is completely unacceptable that an employee took my personal phone number from my certification paperwork just to text me. This is a massive breach of data privacy and professionalism @_nsagh @DPC_Ghana

Every harvest begins with a decision to show up. This National Service initiative brings together NSA staff and interested personnel to grow food, build practical skills and strengthen the agricultural supply chain, from poultry to maize to tomatoes. The results are showing. From Papao Farms to the farms across the length and breadth of the country, the work on the ground is producing food, creating opportunities and proving what national service can deliver. Growing Ghana. Powering the Future.

The NSA will release the second batch of 2026/2027 postings today, 12th October 2026, with subsequent batches to follow in the coming days. Prospective personnel yet to be posted are urged to stay calm, as all eligible applicants will be posted in due course. The Authority is placing greater emphasis on private sector placements to give personnel relevant workplace experience and skills, and to encourage host organisations to retain them after service. Private sector organisations are invited to partner with the NSA by offering placements and considering qualified personnel for permanent roles. Updates will come only through official NSA channels.

Confused about what to do after being posted? We've got you covered. Here is your step by step guide to completing your NSS registration: 1️⃣ Log onto gnsa.gov.gh, check your posting and print your appointment letter. 2️⃣ Get the letter endorsed by your user agency, with an official stamp. 3️⃣ Book your appointment on the NSA website for regional validation and acceptance. 4️⃣ Report to your Regional Zonal Registration Centre to obtain your Regional Acceptance Number (RAN). 5️⃣ Complete the facial recognition process to confirm your identity. 6️⃣ Print your new appointment letter with the RAN, make three photocopies, submit one to the NSA District Office, give one to your user agency and keep one. Only personnel who book an appointment will be attended to at the Regional Zonal Registration Centres. Rejected or released personnel should return to the NSA Regional Office to begin the process. Read your appointment letter carefully and follow every instruction. Your NSS journey starts with the right steps.
