The Root Ledger

My devotional this morning. It is a devotional of thankfulness. We had a medical scare last night, that brought back memories of times in the past, when it happened before. I so thankful for my friends who lifted us in prayer, and thankful for the medical professionals that took such wonderful care of us. 🙏 HEALING HANDS & PRAYING HEARTS — THANK YOU, JESUS! 📖 “…pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.” — James 5:16 KJV Have you ever experienced something that made you stop and realize just how precious life really is? A frightening diagnosis. A medical emergency. A season of pain, uncertainty, and sleepless nights. And then, somewhere in the middle of it all, you realize something beautiful. YOU ARE NOT FACING THIS BATTLE ALONE! There are people praying for you. People whispering your name to Jesus when you’re too exhausted to find the words yourself. People standing in the gap, believing God can do what human strength cannot. AND WHAT A BLESSING IT IS TO BE LOVED BY PEOPLE WHO KNOW HOW TO GET ON THEIR KNEES! I think about the four men who carried their paralyzed friend to Jesus. When the crowd blocked the doorway, they climbed onto the roof and lowered him down before the Savior. (Mark 2:1–12) They refused to give up on their friend. SOMETIMES WE NEED PEOPLE WHO WILL CARRY US IN PRAYER WHEN WE DON’T HAVE THE STRENGTH TO CARRY OURSELVES! And when healing comes, whether through an unexpected recovery, skilled medical hands, treatment, or a long road of restoration, what a beautiful opportunity to give God thanks! 📖 “Bless the LORD, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits: Who forgiveth all thine iniquities; who healeth all thy diseases.” — Psalm 103:2–3 KJV But let’s remember something important. Not everyone receives the healing they’ve been praying for, at least not in the way or timing they hoped. THAT DOESN’T MEAN THEIR FAITH WAS TOO SMALL OR THEIR PRAYERS WEREN’T HEARD. God’s love isn’t measured by the speed of our recovery. So today, I’m thankful. THANKFUL FOR EVERY BREATH. THANKFUL FOR EVERY STEP TOWARD HEALING. THANKFUL FOR DOCTORS, NURSES, AND CAREGIVERS. THANKFUL FOR EVERY PERSON WHO STOPPED WHAT THEY WERE DOING AND LIFTED SOMEONE ELSE’S NAME TO HEAVEN. And above all… THANK YOU, JESUS, FOR YOUR MERCY, YOUR PRESENCE, AND THE HOPE WE HAVE IN YOU! ❓ QUESTION OF THE DAY: Who has stood in prayer for you during a difficult season, and have you thanked God for them today? 🙏 PRAYER: Heavenly Father, thank You for Your healing mercy and the faithful hearts who pray for us. Strengthen those still suffering, guide their caregivers, and fill every waiting heart with Your peace. In Jesus’ mighty name, Amen! ❤️ NEVER UNDERESTIMATE THE BLESSING OF A PRAYING FRIEND OR THE GOODNESS OF THE GOD WHO HEARS US! ALL GLORY, HONOR, AND PRAISE BELONG TO JESUS! 🙌❤️✝️
