20 reasons why zcash is going to 250k+
1. zcash is literally the only viable candidate for global digital cash. period.
2. it brings cryptographic privacy to a space that has slowly devolved into open-source surveillance.
3. bitcoin was engineered to be peer-to-peer electronic cash but got lazy and settled for ossified digital gold.
4. humans have never been this heavily surveilled. on-chain privacy isn't a feature; it's survival infrastructure.
5. the engineering talent density is unmatched: zooko, bowe, zkdragon, the zodl team. elite builders don't stick around ghost chains.
6. the culture is built to relentlessly ship and push boundaries: pioneered zk-SNARKs, now pioneering quantum-resistant recovery layers.
7. zero predatory VCs, zero saylor premium, zero institutional overhead pushing for the kind of ossification that kills protocols long-term.
8. architected from day one to scale for billions of people via massive pipeline upgrades like tachyon and next-gen shielded wallets.
9. there is literally zero competition. zcash is natively encrypted. everything else is a transparent public ledger or a clunky, mixed-in band-aid.
10. the onboarding narrative is ridiculously simple: "you can buy bitcoin at $555 today." it's just bitcoin but private and actually unstoppable.
11. the reflexivity loop is violent: price ticks up -> new buyers enter -> more zec enters the shielded pool -> circulating supply collapses -> price rockets.
12. the deepest bitcoin OGs are quietly positioned: winklevoss, naval, balaji, barry silbert... and zooko literally worked at digicash and wrote the first blog post to ever mention bitcoin.
13. bitcoin paved the dirt path from magic internet money to digital gold. zcash is building the hyper-highway: absolute encrypted money for billions.
14. transparent blockchains are an inherent bug for enterprise adoption. no real business is broadcasting its entire treasury, payroll, and margin to competitors on a public ledger.
15. transparent coins face a terminal fungibility crisis because of taint. zcash solves this mathematically: one shielded ZEC is always indistinguishable from another.
16. regulatory compliance does not require financial doxxing. viewing keys let you selectively disclose transaction history to an auditor without leaking your net worth to the timeline.
17. the ux barrier is officially dead. shielding used to require a complex cypherpunk ritual; now it's a seamless, 1-click native default in modern wallets (zodl...)
18. proof-of-work bootstrapping is the only way to launch a truly sovereign network without a cabal of insiders pre-mining the supply and dumping on retail.
19. Wall Street completely financialized and captured bitcoin to extract value from retail via proxies. zcash remains the untamable, raw cypherpunk asset.
20. the second the global market realizes a transparent public ledger is a permanent surveillance weapon, privacy flips from a luxury to an absolute human right. that's when the repricing hits.

George likes his Bitcoin friends but he also likes his non bitcoiner friends, can he manage them both?
why will btc pump, alts bleed and zec pump massively?
retail is underallocated btc and this validate once again the SoV thesis. if we look at previous polls from ansem, this peak underallocation leads to btc leading with alt underperforming.
however, this time is different (tm)
there is an other hard money competing in the sov arena : zcash.
while most alts will likely bleed against btc, smart money will rotate into the best digital sov assets : btc (the og) and zec.
zec is the only true sov competitor of btc and the timing is perfect:
- quantum computing threats will continue to increase: expect major dramas around satoshi/old coins, protocol upgrade, bitcoin ethos....)
- ai pushing the de-anonimization of btc and proving that the ultimate sov must be private. pseudonimity is a myth, it is either private or public.
- zcash tachyon launch in january : massive scaling + groundwork for post-quantum resistant signatures.
private hard money is unstoppable.

I agree. Holding transparent ledger is hard : worried about mass surveillance, quantum attacks, slow transactions...
It is easier to hold zcash. Shield $ZEC and patiently wait for the electronic p2p cash to become inevitably global. no privacy, no sovereignty.
zcash:native is simply the most undervalued asset today.
1. digital, scarce, private and built for scale
2. goat devs pushiing the frontier in a fast-moving ai world
3. $0.02T mcap vs $100T sov market potential
4. tachyon coming, fiat collapsing, governments grasping for control
best time to be alive tbh 🛡️
.@balajis: “Truly private money at scale, in arbitrary amounts, teleporting it anywhere breaks many assumptions that 20th century states have.
On the other hand, it’s also going to be necessary for individuals to protect their privacy. So there’ll be an enormous demand for it.
And net net, where I think things land up on the other side is it is legal, and governments actually move to a Dropbox or Google-style model.
So just to digress a little bit.
Basically, if you think about how Dropbox, Google, a lot of these companies work, they collect more than most governments do in “tax revenue” via subscription globally.
That’s to say, they just have a subscription, and you pay that subscription. And if you don’t pay, then your digital services are shut off. And if you pay, then it comes back on, right?
And Google and others make enormous amounts of money this way, and they don’t have a single tax collector around the world. They don’t have to audit anybody. You literally just pay whatever dollars per month, right?
That is where things will ultimately go., in my view.
You’re going to have the subscription state, where every country you just pay like 2,000, 3,000, whatever whatever amount of money flat fee per month, and that’s just your fee.
And they don’t have to go and get everything else. They just get a flat fee.
That is ultimately where I think things land up by 2040-ish or thereabouts.”

People read one emotional Matt Green tweet about public key encryption, spent 0 seconds thinking about it, and decide to panic.
Sure ECDLP will be broken with QC's one day. But there's so many levels to this being wrong to panic over.
- 0 actual progress on attacking anything
- We have tons of alternate plans available.
- Quadratic advantage hash-based PKE
- Lattices
- Multivariate polynomials
- A whole field of KEM's from fine grained cryptanalysis. (Fun fact, works even if P=NP)
Sure you can wake-up and choose doomer and be wrong.
We have decades of cryptography to draw from on for all the above options, AND how to build a lot of what we want from UX tweaks without PKE. PKE just made a lot much easier, and less web of trust routing like.
Do the labs have better algorithms for breaking crypto?
Independent of the answer, the most important thing is to have crypto agility. Zcash has proven this, with 3 upgrades happening in 6 months, and Tachyon planned for January. The protocol design has plans for how to turn off features to enable safe protocol upgrades. This is what Quantum Recoverability is, and it applies equally well if there's a non-quantum ECDLP attack.
We're equipped on multiple fronts to protect against future bugs. In the next cryptography upgrade, coming January, already slated features are:
- PQ transparent
- Switching to Tachyon
What people don't realize about Tachyon is it switches us to R1CS, and enables far more crypto agility away from elliptic curves. The nullifier derivation no longer depend on elliptic curves. We get far greater SNARK agility and can very quickly move to STARKs when any crisis comes.
Today's Zcash transparent UTXO's give a better security guarantee than an ETH address. @ZakuraZcash has solved the privacy and performance problem that were blocking rotating T-Addresses natively in the wallet. This is done using PIR to fetch balances, and its already live in Vizor. So its a short UX leap to get this backup plan.
In January, the Transparent pool will be upgraded to support hash based sigs, that can later be STARK aggregated.
disagree.
central banks and instits need privacy. dalio explained clearly (link below) that transparency and traceability are red flags for gov.
bullish on digital sov, but not btc, zcash instead.
another reason why i am so bullish bitcoin here
last cycle it did not even make a new ATH against gold, if you believe in the thesis that $BTC is the best form of digital hard money then the gap between $BTC & $XAU is going to continue to close
gold is $30T, btc is $1.7T & the closer this gap gets the more it makes sense for governments to hold bitcoin on their balance sheets the same way they do with gold
.
While Bitcoin gets a lot of attention, it hasn’t played the safe-haven role many expected. In my view, there are a few reasons why.
First, Bitcoin lacks privacy. Transactions can be monitored and potentially controlled, which is why central banks aren’t looking to hold it.
Second, it also has a high correlation with tech stocks. When investors get squeezed in other areas of their portfolio, they sell their Bitcoin to cover it.
Third, it’s a relatively small and controllable market, whereas gold stands alone. There is only one gold.
Ultimately, gold is more widely held, deeply established, and still plays a central role in the global system.
