The disinformation of UK GC anti-trans rhetoric can be contested by the following.
1. There are currently 3 trans women serving sentences in women’s prisons
2. 0 athletes competed outside of the category of sex assigned to them at birth in the Paris 2024 Olympics

Sir, those are my emotional support notebooks I will never use because the are too beautiful and I don’t want to ruin them.
Trans-youth need and deserve medical care. To deny them this medical care is cruel, and its harms should be obvious. The secondary damage of this bill will be to non-trans youth who need puberty blockers to prevent them going through early puberty.

I sat in on a first-year lecture on Mary Wollstonecraft earlier as seminar prep, and keep thinking about her argument that, since women are supposed to be completely subordinate within society, there's no group more effeminate than soldiers. She was a real poster.

It’s wild how quickly people stopped talking about the riots. The UK had bigger conversations about racism after George Floyd’s murder in the US than when fascists set fire to a hotel with people of colour in it, carried out racist car stops, and targeted a mosque here in our towns and cities.

Don’t turn reading for pleasure into yet another chore. If the book you feel you “should” read does not grip you, put it down. Pick up another one. Sustaining your lifelong love of literature is far more important than finishing every book you start.
This semester I have been teaching on a literary theory module at @PhDEnglishCCT. Yesterday was the final class, and I asked my students to create memes about the theories and primary texts we had been studying.
