here's how you build a 7-figure pipeline in 3 hours:
we signed up to attend a fintech event in Denmark.
i looked at the attendee list and realized there were a lot of relevant people we should be talking to.
so, instead of just showing up at the event, i decided to organize a private dinner.
here is how i approached it:
> got the opt-in attendee list from the event organizers shortlisted relevant people across prospects, cold connections
> started an email campaign inviting them to dinner (10 days before the event)
> kept the messaging very simple and coherent with the main event's messaging
> picked day 1 of the event because most people would be flying back the next day
> aimed for 20 yeses for our 15 seats, expecting some drop-offs
> sent a dietary preference form and followed up with emails sharing who else was coming and what we'd talk about
> partnered with an industry influencer to co-host the dinner (who also happened to attend the event)
> sent reminder emails in the last 1-2 hours and called a few people to make sure they showed up
the plan was 15 people, 25 showed up :)
(was slightly hard to coordinate with the chef at the restaurant but thankfully they prepped extra food)
we kept things casual, everyone shared what they were working on, and agentic AI in finance gave us a natural starting point for the conversation.
the dinner lasted around 3 hours and the outcome?
7 figures in the pipeline
what i learnt is that, sometimes you can just do things, you just need to be extremely vigilant on who all are attending the event, proactive in execution, warm in how you approach them and tadaaaa!
you get what you were looking for!
here is everything i loved about london after staying there for a month:
> there's a tube station pretty much everywhere, and trains every 2-3 minutes on many lines, I barely had to plan my day around transportation
> people reading on the tube, even when it's absolutely packed, i saw people standing and reading books, newspapers, and even making notes, i mean cmonn
> so many cuisines to try, fresh groceries, cute cafes, and COOKIES, mind you, those warm, gooey cookies have my hearttt
> people casually cycling to work, running errands, and hanging out, love me some cycling culture
> and ofc central london, i could walk 15k steps easilyy around tower bridge/westminster because i couldnt get enough of how bful the architectre is
> people are actually sweet, they randomly pass a smile, check in on you
> the parks (specially primrose hill and hyde park), v secluded and lovely to spend weekends
> after 5 PM, every corporate shuts, people are out on the streets having beers, chatting with colleagues and friends, and just enjoying their evenings
> i had to step out everytime i ran out of groceries, back home in india, i could spend an entire day indoors without needing to step out but london made me get some fresh air every single day
