I’m quite surprised that Dalglish has it in him- he’s 75 now. But fair play to him

Ronald Araujo, to Sky Sports, on Luis Suarez: “He was a legend here. We are always speaking, he texts after games. Lucho’s a person that’s very important to me, he’s been here through every moment. Someone who I am learning from. He tells me off! It is his way of showing me love”

Absolutely heartbreaking news about Ciara Mageean.
A proud daughter of Portaferry, a European champion and an inspiration to so many across Ireland.
Ciara brought us such joy and pride through her incredible achievements on the track, and showed extraordinary courage, strength and grace in the face of her illness.
Taken far too soon, with so much more life to live.
My deepest sympathies to Ciara’s husband Thomas, her family, friends and everyone who loved her.
Ireland has lost a truly remarkable young woman.

Andoni Iraola on the connection with Anfield:
“It has also felt like the connection with Anfield is growing and this is something that gives me a lot of satisfaction. The truth is that the players play for you. This means representing you and it also means giving everything on your behalf.
“I have still only been at Liverpool for a short time but I already know that when this happens this is a club that can create its own momentum.” 🔴

Andoni Iraola on Liverpool’s progress:
“We can allow ourselves some satisfaction about this but not too much. All that this period has done is show us what is possible and what we can achieve when we are together and when everyone is pulling in the same direction.
“This is not a situation that we can take for granted. If we want another good result, we will have to go out there and earn it.” 🔴

[🟢] NEW: Michael Edwards persuaded Liverpool’s owners to break the British transfer record for Alexander Isak, believing they should sign the best No.9 available rather than seek a direct replacement for Mohamed Salah.
Edwards felt it was impossible to find another wide forward as good as Salah and that a centre-forward was the safest bet for goals.
Liverpool had no doubts about Isak’s quality. The concern was whether he could settle and adapt to being less involved in play while still being expected to score heavily.

Cherki one of the few players where people just blatantly ignore his 9 bad games out of 10 but when he scores an aesthetically pleasing goal in the 10th game we apparently must confess to his ability
