This is the Oxyrhynchus Hymn, dated to the late 200s AD. It is the earliest known Christian hymn manuscript with both lyrics and musical notation. A plain English rendering of the surviving words: “Let all creation be silent. Let the shining stars be still. Let the rushing winds and rivers cease. While we sing to the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, let every power answer: Amen, amen. Strength, praise, and glory forever to God, the only giver of all good things. Amen, amen.”

There was once a shepherd who found a wolf caught in a snare at the edge of his pasture. The wolf begged to be freed. “I was hungry,” it said. “That is all. Spare me, and I will remember your mercy!” The shepherd cut the rope. The next night, three lambs were gone. Again the shepherd found the wolf. Again it pleaded. Again the shepherd convinced himself that mercy was proof of his goodness. By winter, half the flock was dead. An old farmer finally asked him, “Why do you keep freeing it?” The shepherd answered, “Because I refuse to become cruel.” The farmer looked at the empty field and said, “Then understand what you have done. You were not merciful to the wolf. You were cruel to everything that trusted you to keep them safe.” That’s the lesson. Mercy without judgment isn’t virtue. When someone openly intends to destroy what has been entrusted to you, endless forgiveness doesn’t make you righteous. It makes everyone behind you pay for your vanity.

A college student who calls himself a “future scientist” tells Joshua Haymes a baby in the womb is “not a human being yet.” So Haymes asks him to Google one question: “When does life begin?” He reads the answer out loud, and the debate is over. JOSHUA HAYMES: “My proposition is very simple. It is always evil to intentionally kill an innocent human being.” STUDENT: “It’s not a human being yet.” JOSHUA HAYMES: “When does human life begin?” STUDENT: “I think that’s more of a philosophical question… As a future scientist, even.” JOSHUA HAYMES: “You would say trust the science. You would agree with trust the science?” STUDENT: “Yeah, I would.” JOSHUA HAYMES: “Would you agree that it is always evil to intentionally kill an innocent human being?” STUDENT: “Innocent, yes.” JOSHUA HAYMES: “Now, you said you trust the science. Will you do me a favor and just look up on your phone right now: according to all of the available scientific data, when does life begin?” STUDENT: “It says at fertilization or conception.” That’s the moment his whole argument collapsed. JOSHUA HAYMES: “This is the consensus of all of the scientific community that life begins at conception. It’s not a future life. It’s a current life… If you trust the science, you have to say we must abolish abortion.” STUDENT: [laughing] “Aww man…” He laughs because he knows he just lost. Credit to him for admitting it. CONTEXT: The science the student looked up is not just a pro-life talking point. In 2018, a University of Chicago researcher asked 5,577 biologists from 1,058 institutions when a human life begins. 96% said fertilization. Most of them identified as pro-choice. In 1952, Planned Parenthood’s own pamphlet told women abortion “kills the life of a baby after it has begun.” The biology hasn’t changed since then. The marketing has.

Reminder, Bethel Church gave the church a fake Bible. When I exposed it as a terrible work (with tons of evidence) Kris Vallotton went on stage and said people who criticized The Passion Translation were "Stupid." Then they made a video ignoring almost every good criticism against it, lulling their people back to sleep and furthering the deceptions of Brian Simmons. Recently even MORE evidence against The Passion Translation has come out. It's actually shocking how much proof we have that this thing is a fake translation, a deceptive work, and a copy-pasted, reckless, delusion. Yes, in response to this Bethel finally paused sales of the TPT. But it's not when THEY know it's bad that they responded. It's when YOU knew it was bad. Exposure, not truth, is what they respond to. They are not safe. They are NOT safe. Don't let them pretend they are being persecuted. I truly wish I had better news. I don't.

I got hit with a massive vertigo episode last night, my worst since I first dealt with this back in 2017. It ruined our Saturday plans as it hit minutes before we planned to go out. Thankful for my precious wife who took care of me as I vomited into numerous trash bags.

1. This figuring would be awesome and I would totally buy it if it were real. 2. The comments on @DennyBurk’s post are kind of wild! Multiple “go right to Jael” jokes (that’s the name of the woman in the Bible who did this), one person casting judgment on her (and getting rightly corrected), and another saying that she killed the Hitler of her day. This comment section runs the full gamut!
I would display this precious moment in my living room if it were real.

I am not one for government oversight, but I would absolutely love a law on the books that makes TVs spying on you illegal. If I connect something via HDMI, the TV should function as a dumb terminal. I don’t want a smart TV, I want a display. Give me that.
i own a relatively new (2025) samsung tv. i kept getting weirdly targeted ads. i tried reversing the firmware but it was aes encrypted and no keys unless tear it apart and do uart/jtag magic. zero days it is. root shell on new samsung TVs! discovered PRIVACY HORROR. write up?

A lot of people under 30 don’t realize that anyone who is 35+ thst actually has been writing the last 20+ years will sound like AI… because it was trained on all of our writing and speech patterns🤦🏾‍♂️🤦🏾‍♂️ The funny thing is that AI does this because us millennials and Gen Xers were the original writers and bloggers of the internet era… So all of our common quirks in writing are built into AI… unlike Gen Z who. Ever bothered with blogging, websites or newsletters. I built my first websites on Angelfire, Lycos and Geocities back in 1995… I started blogging on Livejournal and Xanga before 2000. Am our favorite OG YouTubers started posting videos in 2006 which makes us all old AF… People who were kids on your one have near adult children on YouTube at this point. AI is just speaking like us, because we are the source material. AI simply is “Giving Millennial” when it writes…

I’ve never had a high opinion of @h3h3productions / Ethan Klein. That opinion is now even lower.

Whoa. This is legit. I didn’t know Matt Groening named all of the Simpson characters after his own family.
This explains a lot for The Simpsons.

Yesterday, a Jehovah’s Witness knocked on my door to share his faith with me. We briefly discussed some differences between his beliefs and mine, but then the fact that he doesn’t believe that ‘Jesus is God’ came up. In God’s providence, I had actually just read Matthew 9:1-8 that very same morning which is the story where Jesus heals a man and gets accused of doing something “only God can do” …forgiving sins! That little passage doesn't just hint at Jesus' divinity. It puts it on FULL DISPLAY. Let me explain. • Jesus gets accused of doing something only God can do. (Mat 9:3) • Jesus forgives sins. (Mat 9:2) • Jesus knows people’s thoughts / what’s on their heart (Mat 9:4) (Also, it nods to 1 Samuel 16:7: The LORD looks at the heart.) • Jesus calls himself the “Son of man” - term in Daniel 7 to describe a heavenly figure who receives everlasting dominion and the worshipful service of the nations. (Mat 9:6) • Jesus performs a visible miracle to confirm his invisible claim (He forgives sins bc He’s God) (Mat 9:5-7) • Jesus heals with the authority of his own word. (Mat 9:6-7) I finally asked him “do you believe that only God can forgive sins?” He refused to answer. I asked him again. Refused to answer. I looked him in the eye and gently smiled at him and asked him one more time: “do you believe that *only God* can forgive sins?” And he finally said yes. Then I said “then who is Jesus?” I could tell he connected some dots and that realization unsettled him. Immediately, he politely said “I gotta go,” respectfully shook my hand and left. Never underestimate what God can do through one conversation grounded in His Word. Praying that this kind man would come to know and put his faith in Jesus as He is actually revealed in Scripture.

California: Guys. I haven’t been wrong yet. I was right about prop 47 and 57. I told you it would lead to high crime. I was right about George Gascon as a DA. I was right about ballot measure fraud. I knew the fix would be in for the LA mayors race and that the homeless were being exploited to sway the election. And I was right about Prop 50. I told you not to give your power away to Sacramento. And the reason? Prop 40. The so called billionaires tax. It is not a billionaire’s tax at all. You want to know why? Because Sacramento knows that billionaires and millionaires are leaving this dumpster fire of a state. So as they leave, they will expand the tax to the middle lass and poor, and there will be nothing you can do about it because… (drumroll)… you voted for prop 50. You let them scare you into giving them power over you. They can do whatever they want now and you have no say so. Do not vote of this proposition. Prop 40 will place even more taxes on the backs of the working class. It is inevitable. Don’t fall for it. Please vote YES on 39 for voter ID. Our elections system is corrupt and we actually have a chance to fix it. We have to vote for Hilton. It’s no longer about party lines. We cannot keep voting for the same kinds of candidates and expect something different. Becerra was exposed during that debate. Hilton has ideas that sound like they can help reduce some of the damage. But it has to start somewhere. And that starts with him and prop 39.

I am now contacting my banks to issue disputes and chargebacks. 10 of them in total. @GoDaddy is an absolute failure to try to work with.
I've been trying unsuccessfully to resolve this issue with @GoDaddy support. They are now LYING about sending me failed billing emails. And they are not honoring their text support saying that the previous payments will be applied.

I really hate @GoDaddy. Their text support option is incredibly horrible. I ask direct questions and do not get answers. They have cost me over $1000 for a domain I was leasing and had a billing issue that they never notified me about, now the lease has to start over. Grrr.

Whenever I see a quote online that I like, I get excited to share it and then pause for a moment. I ask @grok if it's real. 90% of the time it's not and I don't share.

What once was the peak, is now just the beginning. Paramount and Warner Bros. shaped over a century of culture. By combining them, we aren't rewriting history — we're equipping these iconic studios with a more powerful engine. Together, we are Skydance: a creative-first home for bold, quality storytelling. We chose this name for a few important reasons. First and foremost, as we bring Paramount and Warner Bros. together, we wanted to preserve what has made each of these studios iconic. Both have distinct identities, extraordinary legacies and brands that have resonated with audiences for generations. We never wanted a new corporate identity to diminish, alter or overshadow either one. Instead, we wanted a name that would give the combined company an identity of its own while allowing Paramount and Warner Bros. — and all our extraordinary brands — to remain in the spotlight. We have big goals for Skydance, and we intend to pursue them with passion, imagination and a willingness to take smart risks. At the same time, we will honor what makes Paramount and Warner Bros. special — giving both studios the opportunity to grow, tell more great stories and bring those stories to even broader audiences around the world, powered by the scale and capabilities of Skydance. I couldn’t be more excited about what we’re going to build together.
