Just delightful videos of Bedouin Israeli voters riding camels to the polls, mostly to vote for Ra'am, an Islamist party with a Jewish #2 that could be the kingmaker in the election's outcome.

A new study tracked 1,100 Canadians for 6 years post-legalization. They used cannabis just as often, but valued it less, spent less, and got more price-sensitive. It went from something people chased to something they buy when it’s convenient and cheap: sciencedirect.com/science/ar…

It seems MN supply is (finally) ramping up. Plants started in May are just now starting to reach retail shelves, w/ a much larger wave of production coming behind them. mn.gov/ocm/data-reports/dash… After a disappointing first 13 months of AU sales (which began 9/17/25), could MN finally turn a corner over the next 6–12 months, as its 200+ retailers become better stocked & prices begin to fall from their absurdly high levels? (which have kept the MN illicit market strong) If the US cannabis industry is going to return to meaningful growth in 2027 after 3+ years of stagnation, we need MN to start pulling its weight.

84% of 11-year-olds aren't allowed to leave their street. 53% can't leave their front yard. 92% of 14-year-olds can't leave their neighborhood. We built a culture obsessed with safety. The result? A generation that's measurably more anxious: substack.com/home/post/p-197…

8 years ago today, AU cannabis sales began in Canada. This anniversary is our annual reminder that the most straightforward rebuttal to the dire predictions of cannabis prohibitionists is simply: look at Canada. It is intellectually dishonest to continue making outlandish claims about the supposed dangers of legalization as if we don’t already have 8 years of real-world evidence from Canada. Legalization is not a political controversy in Canada anymore. Canadians barely think about it. Nobody cares. In October 2022, a week before Canada celebrated its 4th anniversary of AU sales, President Biden ordered a federal review of marijuana’s scheduling. 4 years later, Canada is now celebrating its 8th anniversary and the US rescheduling process still isn’t finished, in no small part because American political discourse continues to take seriously the deeply disingenuous arguments of prohibitionists who willingly disregard real-world evidence from places like Canada. I really hope we’re not having this same, tired conversation when Canada celebrates its 9th anniversary of AU sales next year. I’m getting too old for this.
7 years after AU sales began in Canada, it seems hard to dispute that cannabis legalization 🇨🇦 has been a real success. Legal market -> 80%+ of sales. The illicit market has shrunk massively. Youth use is down. Cannabis contributes $16B to annual GDP. Supports 227,000 jobs.

Trikafta is one of the most inspiring medical advances in decades. Approved in 2019, the drug at first makes cystic fibrosis patients vomit up mucus for about a week. They lose that week and then they gain a lifetime–a healthy, *normal length* lifetime. Pharma brings miracles!
YOU LOVE TO SEE IT Life expectancy for people with cystic fibrosis going up and up and up and uo That's what REAL science does. 😍

Just did some number crunching using latest (Oct 1) ECMWF seasonal data, and I must say that I've never seen such high predictive confidence in a very wet California winter. This is a truly extraordinary forecast amid a record-strength El Niño event. [Thread: please read to end.]

The biggest killer on the planet is stress, and I’ve always believed in the medicinal benefits of the cannabis plant. That’s why I support the new CMS Innovation Center initiative expanding clinician-guided access to hemp-derived cannabinoid products. It’s an important step toward learning more about how these plant-based remedies can improve the health and quality of life of older Americans.

Every sentient journalist here knows these are the sources of "news" in Gaza, and have been since the Hamas takeover 19 years ago. This is obviously a major story, but Western editors can't cover it honestly because they've all played ball and are thus implicated themselves.
So it turns out that Hamas runs a WhatsApp group with all of Gaza’s journalists, where Hamas “managed the discourse and the narrative.” These outlets have "journalists" in Gaza: Reuters, AP, NYT, CNN, Wapo, PBS, NPR, BBC, The Guardian, Al Jazeera, and Drop Site News

Michael Moritz on the importance of storytelling in business.
My conversation with Michael Moritz, one of the great venture investors of the last 40 years. Michael joined Sequoia in 1986 and co-led the firm with Doug Leone (@dougleone) from 1995 to 2012. His investments include Google, Yahoo, PayPal, and Stripe. His new book, Ausländer, traces his parents' escape from Nazi Germany and helps explain his lifelong interest in what shapes exceptional people. We discuss: - The infamous Steve Jobs profile - Why Don Valentine hired him - The question he finds most revealing when interviewing people - Monomania and the cost of greatness - Why he has never felt good at anything - Writing, journalism and AI - What he learned about himself writing Ausländer I'd recommend watching this one if you can. Michael was incredibly thoughtful and reflective throughout, particularly when talking about his parents, childhood, and the more difficult parts of his personal story. Enjoy! In 2024 the world published over 2x as many stories about Israel as about all 48 countries of sub-Saharan Africa combined — 1.3 billion people. Per conflict death in 2022, it discussed Israel ~10,000x more than Ethiopia’s Tigray war, the deadliest war of the decade.
