The US has no idea the world of hurt that it has ushered. It is truly soul-crushing to see some of the outcomes. My reaction is not based on partisan politics but rather a deep love and reverence for the US. Regrettably, American Exceptionalism is increasingly disappearing. I will continue fighting in the battle of ideas but I fear that this might be a fatal inflection point. May the America of the Founding Fathers eventually prevail.

Not even 9am but already 3 long threads on sexual performance in my feed. All sharing the same traits (short categorical statements, aiming for length rather than quality [of the content, I mean]), each one slipping in some marketing reference (a dietary supplement, a "book" etc). None are particularly interesting to read in the first place. Is this some kind of psyop?

Over the past months, a single Wikipedia editor has been quietly shaping @AbdulElSayed's entry. The editing has been intensive and highly directed. For example: + Hasan Piker controversy got cut down. + Syed's antisemitism problem – deleted. + Harris and Obama endorsements went in. + A line saying AIPAC’s brand is “toxic” included. Is it an op? Well, two weeks ago the same editor had this to say in an edit summary on the El-Sayed page: “another half month of this shit.” 🧵

From another friend: JFK'S Secretary of State, Dean Rusk, was in France in the early 60's when DeGaulle decided to pull out of NATO. DeGaulle said he wanted all US military out of France as soon as possible. Rusk responded, "Does that include those who are buried here?" DeGaulle did not respond. You could have heard a pin drop. When in England, at a fairly large conference, Colin Powell was asked by the Archbishop of Canterbury if our plans for Iraq were just an example of 'empire building' by George Bush. He answered by saying, "Over the years, the United States has sent many of its fine young men and women into great peril to fight for freedom beyond our borders. The only amount of land we have ever asked for in return is enough to bury those who did not return." You could have heard a pin drop. There was a conference in France where a number of international engineers were taking part, including French and American. During a break, one of the French engineers came back into the room saying, "Have you heard the latest dumb stunt Bush has done? He has sent an aircraft carrier to Indonesia to help the tsunami victims. What does he intend to do, bomb them?" A Boeing engineer stood up and replied quietly: "Our carriers have three hospitals on board that can treat several hundred people; they are nuclear powered and can supply emergency electrical power to shore facilities; they have three cafeterias with the capacity to feed 3,000 people three meals a day, they can produce several thousand gallons of fresh water from sea water each day, and they carry half a dozen helicopters for use in transporting victims and injured to and from their flight deck. We have eleven such ships. How many does France have?" You could have heard a pin drop. A U.S. Navy admiral was attending a naval conference that included admirals from the U.S., English, Canadian, Australian, and French navies at a cocktail reception. He found himself standing with a large group of officers that included personnel from most of those countries. Everyone was chatting away in English as they sipped their drinks when a French admiral suddenly complained that, whereas Europeans learn many languages, Americans learn only English. He then asked, "Why is it that we always have to speak English in these conferences rather than speaking French?" Without hesitating, the American admiral replied, "Maybe it's because the Brits, Canadians, Aussies, and Americans arranged it so you wouldn't have to speak German." You could have heard a pin drop. AND THIS STORY FITS RIGHT IN WITH THE ABOVE... Robert Whiting, an elderly gentleman of 83, arrived in Paris by plane. At French customs, he took a few minutes to locate his passport in his carry on. "You have been to France before, monsieur?" the customs officer asked sarcastically. Mr. Whiting admitted that he had been to France previously. "Then you should know enough to have your passport ready." The American said, "The last time I was here, I didn't have to show it." "Impossible. Americans always have to show their passports on arrival in France!" The American senior gave the Frenchman a long hard look. Then he quietly explained, ''Well, when I came ashore at Omaha Beach on D-Day in 1944 to help liberate this country, I couldn't find a single Frenchmen to show a passport to." You could have heard a pin drop. I am proud to be an American, and proud of this God given heritage!

I don’t like to compare the two sides, but for a while I’ve noticed something quite interesting. On Oct 7, 1200 Israelis were killed, and about 850 since (that second number could be a bit off, but it’s not important for this post). And there have been some number of casualties in Gaza, ranging between 10,000 and 2,000,000,000. Again, the number isn’t relevant. I’ve seen a ton of posts about the Israelis that were murdered. Their names. Their faces. Their stories. Their plans for their lives. Who they’re left behind. I see pictures of them with their families, before Oct 7. I see them happy. Full of life. Full of love. Full of light. They’re humans. Human lives that have been taken, way before their time. Human lives that ended far earlier than they should have. I see highlights of their lives. Showing the world the light that was extinguished with their death. And then? The other side. Never names. Never information about who died. Never information about their families. Never pictures of them living. Never their stories. Never what they leave behind. Pictures of their deaths. Videos of them dying. No names. Numbers. Focusing on the numbers. Not wanting the world to know the lives ended. Just wanting the world to know the numbers. The propaganda. Why are there no pictures or videos of them living? Is it true they’re all dolls just used for propaganda? Why are there no names? No details? Is it all just made up? Why is it that the focus is always on the darkness? Never on the light that was their lives? Is there no light? I have lots of questions. Questions that I can surmise the answers to, because there’s no way to verify anything coming out of this second side. Just one of many interesting differences.

Let me introduce you to a fellow named Max Naumann. In 1934, Naumann, a German Jew, urged fellow Jews to support Adolf Hitler. He defended the Nazi regime even as it persecuted Jews, and actually petitioned Hitler for the right of Jews to fly the German flag. In 1935, the Gestapo dissolved his organization and threw him in prison, where he attempted suicide. He died of cancer in 1939, before the Holocaust, but not before discovering how little his loyalty to the Nazis was worth. I'm not comparing Abdul El-Sayed to Hitler. I'm questioning the idea that a Jewish endorsement is, by itself, evidence of what's best for Jewish safety. From the Hellenizing Jewish elites of ancient Jerusalem to Jewish supporters of Iran's Islamic Revolution, we have examples throughout our history of Jews aligning themselves with political movements that ultimately turned against them. Their motivations differed, as did the consequences. But there's a lesson in Max Naumann's story that's worth remembering. Being Jewish has never made anyone immune to being catastrophically wrong about what's good for Jews. @PatinkinMandy @GadSaad
Help get @abdulelsayed elected to the senate! Jewish safety depends on a real multiracial democracy—and Abdul is the one fighting to protect it. Get involved and help at abdulforsenate.com/vote go.abdulforsenate.com We know how much it matters to live in a country where our rights are protected, where the law applies equally to everyone, and where the majority can’t just decide that some people don’t deserve the same freedoms. The safety and freedom we’ve found in America didn’t happen by accident. They exist because of democracy. And protecting democracy means protecting Jewish safety, too. We know what happens when those protections start to break down. When courts are weakened, elections are undermined, and people lose equal protection under the law, minorities are often the first to pay the price. Jews have seen this throughout our history. It’s one of the reasons so many of our families sought refuge in democratic countries. That’s why I find it so alarming to see what’s happening right now. When masked government agents are taking people off the streets and citizens are being shot in public, we should all be worried about where things are headed. As Jews, we know that when a government starts targeting certain groups of people, no one should assume they’re safe from what comes next. Mike Rogers has chosen to align himself with a movement that is willing to attack our democracy. He stood with Trump and refused to accept the results of the 2020 election. And now we’re seeing what happens when a political movement treats the rights and dignity of certain people as disposable. For Jews, these things should set off alarm bells. Jewish safety is tied to the health of our democracy. We can’t protect one without protecting the other. And in this Senate race, Abdul is the candidate who understands that and is willing to fight for it. #abdulelsayed #democracy #jewish #midterms

✅ What about Gaza?!?!

I wouldn’t be surprised at all if Putin’s money and agents were fueling these protests, coordinating certain groups and providing them with funding. Soviet intelligence, and modern Russian intelligence, have spent decades financing radicals in different parts of the world. Right now, France is the main target of these destabilization efforts. If Le Pen wins the election, it will mean the end of France’s support for Ukraine in the war, the loss of one of Ukraine’s strategic partners. Do you really think Putin is just sitting back, believing that Europe should have free and fair elections? Yeah, right, haha. I wish France peace and stability, and I hope the situation is brought under control. Everyone responsible for criminal acts must be held accountable, and the agents behind these destabilization efforts must be identified and exposed.
