Sad loss for Calgary and Alberta brewing with the passing of Jim Button. Shared many conversations with him over the years, and he shall always remain a Calgary icon. RIP Jim. His last words: gatherwithjim.com/blog/2023-…

Did you know Alberta has over 500 varieties of gin and about 10% are distilled in the province, many using unique local botanicals? Check out the Sept. 2020 issue of @CulinaireMag & also see who won best gins at the Alberta Beverage Awards in the upcoming October issue.

See all the winners here. canadianbrewingawards.com/20… Then search them out and try them. Note: not all beers are available in all provinces....thus is our lot in life.

Congrats to all the winners of the #cba2020 including the 38 award winners from Alberta (out of 165 awards) for a 23% win rate. Pretty good for a province where most of the breweries are much less than 7 years old. Special nod to @CommonCrownBrew for winning Brewery of the Year.

Not an easy fruit to play with. Fortunately we in Alberta get a couple of very decent blueberry ales...@WeAreBrewsters Brewfoot & @alley_kat_beer (when they make it). If you are ever in NE USA though....the best I have ever had is @BluePointBrewer Blueberry Ale from Long Island.

Joe Carter HR was game 6- so even if Phillies win there was still another game.

So the play happened early in his career, with no way of knowing he would have the streak he had. Question: I wonder if the coach would have subbed him out if he had his unbroken streak and this play happened very late in his career?
Football fans, be honest. Did you know this story about D’Brickashaw Ferguson? This is wild.
BTW- I never minded driving through Texas- have done N-S and E-W many times (my uncle lives in Houston) and we would drive from Alberta, Canada to there quite a few times. So I have literally been all over Texas. It's one of my favourite states.

That's nothing....try driving across Ontario, Canada. This distance isn't even the whole province. At least Texas has about 29 million people; this stretch has about 1/2 million people (almost all of Ont. population is south of Ottawa). A couple of mining towns & not much else.

Look to the west and call it a Tequila Sunset so it is more timely....
A little tequila sunrise to put myself to bed. Does it still count as a night cap?
