Pokud to nesledujete, přečtěte si, co udělala AI akademickým matematikům.
Před AI stačilo vyhrát grant, a pak se někam na roky zašít, a po pár letech, tady máte paper optimalizovaný na počet citací, dejte další grant.
AI do tohodle procesu hodilo atomovou bombu. Za cenu menší než malý grant vyplodí takových paperů stovky s prstem v nose. Matematici jaou zděšeni, bojí se, že si už nebudou moci hrát, že jim bude hrozit práce. Nebojí se jen ti poctiví.
AI postupně požere všechny obory, a bude to mít zajímavý dopad.
Lidsko myslím teď čeká fáze hyperoptimalizace všeho.
Čemu se akademikové vyhýbají jako čert kříží (tržní validace jejich zewlingu), toho se ujme AI jedním promptem.
Včera jsem si rozebral práci Jakub Steiner, který se vydává za ekonoma, ale skoro kdykoliv, jsem od něj četl cokoliv nějak spojeného s ekonomií, tak jsem si nebyl jist, jestli si nedělá prdel (nedělá).
Zatím mu to šarlatánství procházelo, protože má citace (pochopil a hacknul pravidla hry), jenže AI nezměnila jen pravidla hry, AI i vyměnila hráče (za nelidsky produktivní roboty). Dnes už si akademik nevystačí s obskurantismem, protože tradiční akademický slop AI zpracuje jak kombajn.
Kdo zvládne takovou záplavu nové vědy?
Lidi ne, pouze AI. A to bude optimalizovat.
Role lidí nezastupitelná zůstává jen jedna.
Ptát se, jaký to má všechno smysl.
Math started being impacted by AI a year ago.
In approximately two years, almost all mathematical results will be formalized in Lean and indexed. Mathematics will finally have a proper knowledge base that people (and AI) can search.
Combined with insanely high-IQ AI, a huge number of significant open problems in mathematics will be solved by AI, in a few hours.
The role of mathematicians, at least during that period, will be to understand, simplify, interpret, and explain the results to other humans. They'll be the interpreters, the translators, of what a new kind of intelligence vastly superior to us (at least on some highly intellectual tasks) will discover.
This is going to be insane, the largest revolution in mathematics since the foundational crisis of the 20th century, for instance when Gödel's incompleteness theorems shattered the dream of a complete, self-contained formal foundation for mathematics.
I personally think this will be a much more profound revolution, because it's also an identity crisis for the mathematical community and some mathematicians. Their job in a few years will not be what they imagined at all.
I feel their pain, but the advancement of AI is inevitable (all players have incentives to accelerate it). The only alternatives they face are to adapt or to find another job (they can all easily do something else, so I'm not worried about them).
You would never hire a swe who never uses AI in 2026. Society will not accept paying mathematicians who refuse to use AI in 2029 simply because they prefer the good old way of doing mathematics...

Ač se mi kroutí palce u nohy, musím s tím souhlasit. Hlavně s tím, co tam blábolil Váňa. Bohužel má pravdu. V týdnu jsem vezl děti do školy. Parkoviště bylo zablokované kužely. Druhý den ráno kamion ČESKÁ TELEVIZE a x dalších doprovodných vozidel, u jednoho si povídá hlouček lidí - zaměstnaci ČT. Přijeli natáčet basket. Zajímalo by mě, kolik to stálo peněz. Batoh pro živé vstupy představila TV Nova v roce 2010. O 16 let později tu stále máme televizní studia v kamionu, mraky lidí kolem toho, kteří tam dávno nemusí být, ale protože se to tak dělá už desítky let, tak to nikdo neřeší. Stojí to raketoplán a všem je to jedno.
Já jsem extrémista v tomhle a pořád bych to celý prostě zrušil, ale taky realista, takže : v rámci záplavy příspěvků o ČT tady jsem zachytil post pana Záruby, kde píše, že ČT patří občanům. Fajn, tak to dotáhněme:
1. Kdo platí, ten rozhoduje. Koho chleba jíš, toho píseň zpíváš, to platí pro stát i pro poplatníky. Takže když už platím, chci hlas. Jeden plátce jeden hlas, volba rady, slovo do strategie a rozpočtu. Neprodejný, nekoupitelný, žádný oligarcha si to neskoupí. Do zpráv a moderátorů ať nikdo nekecá, ale kdo za co utrácí, to ať je na těch, co to cvakají.
2. Ukažte čísla. ČT pálí 8,5 miliardy ročně a nikdo neví, kolik stojí hodina ČT24 se vším všudy. Takže:
Plné náklady po kanálech a žánrech, včetně mezd a režie, ne jen externí výroba.
Náklad na hodinu premiéry - zprávy, dokument, zábava, sport.
Všechny externí zakázky nad limit veřejně v registru.
Jo a samozřejmě a to se dost podceňuje v Praze, arogance některých zaměstnanců plus neprůhledné hospodaření moc debatě taky mezi lidma nepřidává.
Mimochodem, když se tu vždycky ohání kdekdo tím, jak to dělaj jinde (a vybere si vždycky jen to, kde se mu to hodí do krámu): Švýcaři letos v březnu hlasovali o snížení poplatku z 335 na 200 franků. 62 % voličů to odmítlo. Aha ale ti Švýcaři jsou ale uvědomělí, že? Jenže SRG přesto ohlásila úsporný program, který má do roku 2029 ušetřit 270 milionů franků a zrušit 900 úvazků. Takže když to splní, tak při dalším možném referendu se vubec nemusi SRG bát, že by jim to lidi snížili, páč vidí, že s jejich prachama se hospodaří zodpovědně.

Ten rozdíl nasycení půdy mezi povrchovou (malá mapa nahoře) a hlubší (dole) vrstvou půdy je naprosto neobvyklý!
