Given the ineptness of government, they'll finally act but they'll "pull an India" and we're going to settle on a half-hour time zone "to make everyone happy." Just wait and see....
I let AirBear run for a while and then checked in to find eight new messages, including audio recordings. I need to add FM decoding as well. Does this have practical use? Not that I can tell. It's ridiculously cool though.
Overview
- ShowShark has a new look. Movie, show, episode, person, and music pages now open on large artwork from your library. The Channels, Browse, Playlists, and Discover tabs, the video player, and the Apple TV server screen share the same dark, artwork-first design.
- Search finds what you meant. A misspelled search such as "Wild kratz" now shows results for Wild Kratts. The Search tab also has a new design, with a color for each genre and a top result at the head of every search.
By Feel picks movies and shows to match your mood.
- The Discover quiz was rebuilt around ten moods, such as funny, dark, scary, and romantic. On a Mac with Apple Intelligence, the Server rates the mood of every title in your library on the Mac itself.
- Move between sections with the new dial. On iPhone, iPad, Mac, and Apple Vision Pro, one round control at the bottom of the screen reaches every section of the app.
- Music that keeps playing has its own Now Playing section. Go back to your music from any device, including Apple TV, where the old shortcut was out of reach.
- Step to the next episode before you press Play. Previous Episode and Next Episode buttons change the episode without leaving the player.
- Sort your movies by year or by date added. The Browse Movies list now offers five sort orders.
- ShowShark remembers where you stopped more reliably. The app saves your place every 10 seconds, even while paused, and at once when you pause or skip.
CoreView Release Notes v2026.11.01
CoreView keeps live video closer to what your camera sees now.
- Less delay during long viewing sessions. If playback falls behind, CoreView skips old video to return to the current picture.
- Faster starts and reconnections. ONVIF and UniFi Protect cameras reuse saved connection details. Compatible ONVIF cameras also receive a request for a fresh picture.
- Faster return to cameras in a group. Cameras stay ready briefly when you scroll them out of view, so scrolling back needs less waiting.
- More responsive sound. Audio starts sooner and reduces extra delay after the network becomes stable again.
- Better recovery from missing video data. CoreView skips damaged video until it can show a complete picture again.
Reddit stock price down 25%. Couldn't have happened to a nicer company! /s

Reddit's CEO just admitted something $GOOGL would rather you didn't hear!!
"Google is crawling us as hard as ever. AI Mode does not drive traffic. Not for us, and not to anybody."
The way the internet ran on for 25 years is you let Google read your site, and Google sends you visitors/traffic. That deal is over now and it’s all because of AI.
Google now reads Reddit, writes the answer itself and the user never leaves the search page.
Reddit does the work and Google keeps the reader…and that’s how money is being made.
For $RDDT, its biggest front door is closing which is why the stock is down -25% this morning. Huffman's plan is that people will just come to Reddit directly. Maybe. But US user growth is already down to 6%, and "we'll change everyone's habits" is a hope that’s never gonna come.
For Google, the issue is the same. The damage is slower but it goes deeper. Its AI is only as smart as the open web it learns from. Stop sending sites traffic, and they'll lock their content up, sell it to rival labs or block Google outright. Google is eating the thing it feeds on.
AI killed the click and both of these companies were built on it. It's a fight over who survives the next version of the internet… $GOOGL looks interesting if they cannot win the search
macOS and tvOS app store reviews completed quickly. iOS app store review sits "waiting" for a week. Enters review. Rejected. "Please send video recording of app." You couldn't have asked for that a week ago? Make it mandatory for new apps?
My smoker's app crashed overnight. Awful app.
Codex and I set about documenting how it works, to make something better. It turns out that I can get my grill's state info, across the internet, without authenticating. :-/
App idea: discover which of your neighbors is smoking food and the approximate time until target temperature is reached. Show up with beer and brownies at just the right time.
App name ideas? Uncanny Neighbor? Univited? JustShowzUp?
Work in progress.
AirBear has worked with ADS-B, APRS and GPS for a while. I'm adding AIS, ACARS, VDL2, UAT and more. I need to get more dongles. And antennas.
