Also, the “Atlantic story” is fake.
I have lived within a 45-min drive of Dearborn for most of my life. My family tree runs through there, yet there are many things I still don’t know about this layered, complex community w/a delicate history. Out-of-town, politicized hot takes turn locals into pawns. Pls don’t.

So proud of the work that Debbie Mikula does for @MLAoffice and libraries in Michigan every day. We are so lucky to have her.
"Librarians are not trying to force your children to read material you don’t want them to read. They are fulfilling their role as information professionals tasked with upholding the constitutional promise of access to information for all." wapo.st/3Sw4opB

Replying to @politicony
Libraries/librarians are in the business of connecting readers to the books & materials they are looking for. We think that is a pretty American value that leads to more liberty & pursuit of happiness (sometimes life). Others may be at war against these values, but not libraries.

Such a lovely read; brings back memories of high-energy nephews settling down cozily at bedtime. The Enduring Wisdom of ‘Goodnight Moon’ nytimes.com/2022/09/20/books…
