Jesus didn’t come to earth to save us by showing us how to be good people. He came to earth to die for us as a propitiatory sacrifice because there is no one good, no not one
Only took two minutes to tear an apple in half with my bare hands. Where do I sign up for a strongman competition?

I have an urgent prayer request. A young boy, age 9, who is close to our family was found unresponsive. He’s been life-flighted to a children’s center. The last update I received showed no brain activity. Please please pray for him and for everyone who loves him. 🙏🏼💔
Throwback to when Teddy took umbrage at my attempts to retrieve him from under my car during a snowstorm.
You can actually see that Joel is being eaten spiritually. Like, you can see it in his physical presence. He is hollowing out.

Something that stuns me over and over again is that each of my children, all the way down to the one-month old, is a whole person, whose whole world is centered on their thoughts and senses and emotions just as much as mine is centered on me.
And so when my baby or toddler cries, it’s not just a sound effect in the periphery of MY life, causing potential inconvenience or frustration for me. This is a real person who is having a real hang-up in their day.
And when one of my teens is missing their friends or wanting to do something fun or to simply have a snack in between meals, it’s not just another tiresome request that will either fit neatly into my own ideas and schedule for the day or cause me annoyance, it’s a real person having a real desire that is as important to them as my own desires or hunger pangs feel for me.
The weighty thing about all this is, as parents, we hold all the power here. To be a tyrant or a leader, to say yes or no, to stop and help or to cast aside, to be hospitable or controlling, to be a friend or an exasperation.
I feel like this is something that is SO important yet so easy to forget. Our children are people. And not just people, but people who belong first and foremost to God. We must treat them as precious.

Driving on the highway in Atlanta a few moments ago I saw a car going 55mph pulling a smoker that was *actively smoking meat,* occasionally crackling, sending sparks at other cars

Imagine being immortalized into Scripture, and you're described, "He wanted to see who Jesus was, but because he was short he could not see over the crowd"
The American Male Mind cannot even.
Was lying in bed being sad about Teddy, and this little Cheeze-It decided to plunk herself down on my stomach and make biscuits. (Unlike Teddy, Roo is my cat, and thus safe from having to live with Jo.)
Welp, final Landlady’s mom update because I’m so angry it’s circled back around to calmness. Landlady let Teddy, the 17-year-old cat live as a trial run with her mom at the facility. A week in, Teddy died. I could have told her this would happen.
And now I’m not going to see my little buddy again, and I didn’t even get to say goodbye before she whisked him off to live with evil Jo. I get that pets aren’t people, but they are still living creatures with feelings that we are supposed to steward well.
