Play UP Sky Blues. Going up 🙌🩵Relegated 25 years ago from the Premier League, Coventry City tumbled to League Two, were homeless, debt-riddled, had difficult owners, but the fans never lost the faith, even when all seemed lost for team and club, even when they were trekking to temporary homes at Sixfields and St Andrew’s. Their loyalty, belief and stoicism have been rewarded. So congratulations to all at @Coventry_City on promotion back to the @premierleague. To the inspirational Frank Lampard, his tireless staff and excellent, very watchable team, to a good owner in Doug King and all the hard-working staff at the ground and training ground. And to those fans who always dreamed this day would come. nb: Premier League fixtures out June 19 - and soon changed, but all that matters is that Coventry City are back. #PUSB

“How dare he say we weren’t on the frontline, how dare he?” Labour’s Emily Thornberry says Donald Trump’s claim European soldiers in Afghanistan avoided the frontlines was an “absolute insult”, and is “proud” the UK helped stand up to him over Greenland #bbcqt

Our Statement in response to President Trump's comments: The service and sacrifice of British personnel in Afghanistan cannot be called into question, and we condemn any comments that undermine their extraordinary contribution.

The joys of breaking news dropping on the way to work so having to pull over to get it ready for the embargo time!! Great signing for the Sky Blues 🤝 #PUSB
BREAKING 🚨 Coventry City have confirmed the signing of right back Kaine Kesler-Hayden from Aston Villa. He joins the Sky Blues on a 4️⃣ year contract for an undisclosed fee, but the BBC understands the fee to be within the region of 3.5 million. #PUSB

Happy Brexit referendum anniversary day. It weakened the economy. Reduced investment. Tanked the pound. Damaged the City. Increased red tape. Increased immigration. Decreased the rights of the young. Staffed billions wasted. But hey - Johnson has PM on his CV and his partner in crime Farage has replaced him as the darling of the right wing rags. So all worth it for the tiny minority who gained out of an act of national self harm

Says the man who negotiated the biggest act of self-harm in our history, then killed thousands during Covid by being a dithering fool, then threw away his massive majority because he couldn't follow his own rules. Sit down and shut up you useless tit.

I don’t speak of this often. My dad was an immigrant. From the moment he arrived in this country he worked hard every day in labouring jobs. My most vivid memory is of his tired and weary eyes and oil stained overalls after a 12 hour factory shift. Even then he managed a smile. Together, he and my mum raised a family of four. They worked hard, they contributed and instilled in each of us a fierce sense of right and wrong and love of country. His proudest day was when he became a British citizen. I recall him with love and affection and pride and carry the lessons he taught me in my heart every day. If it were not for my dad I would never have become a lawyer and in his memory I work hard everyday to make a difference to as many as I can. Immigration is a beautiful thing and don’t let anyone tell you otherwise ❤️

The Lions talk about the 'huge importance of our supporters', how their 'energy and passion' will be vital in Australia. Then they charge them £50-a-head to attend the squad announcement. An own goal if ever there was one.

An absolute masterclass in how the UK media platforms and normalises far right politics. This is how Farage wins.

Bizarre news judgements by BBC on one of the most important days in UK politics for many years. 10pm News leads on another moan from Prince Harry. Newsnight leads with an interview with the governor of California. Bonkers
