Roommates in your twenties can do more for your savings than any sacrifices like not getting coffee.
A good part of the $TSLA community is acting like mindless delusional bots.
We have people like @niccruzpatane posting $/mile rates for Tesla and Waymo that are not based in any reality. Tesla themselves said 0.20$ is a goal and not the actual number today.
I singled him out because of the post I saw this morning, but there are hundreds of such posts by people living in la la land.
Yes, Tesla is amazing and I do own a lot the stock. @robotaxi is scaling and being bearish at this time is one of the worst times to do so.
That said, Tesla does face some challenges and do address them. There is a reason they are taking their time to scale, they want to get it right.
They also need to still execute on those insane goals they have and will accomplish. It's not a guarantee and this is where so many act like brain dead optimists. The race is not won until you cross the finish line, even if you're ahead.
Yesterday I came across @natbrunell (didn't know about her before her post). She was describing the Robotaxi network as something Tesla should do because she hadn't heard about it. She's not alone, we the $TSLA bulls are in the minority here.
Tesla will succeed and reward us well, but can we remain accurate about the current affairs and not blow back on people when they provide constructive criticism like @DillonLoomis. He's a $TSLA bull, so am I, but we all have to be able to look at the company without our rose coloured glasses on...
Your first home doesn't need to look like your parents' current one.
You're comparing your starting point to their thirtieth year in the house. Different stage, different budget.
Starter homes were always smaller and further out. That part hasn't changed. The price has.
Buy for the next five years, not the next thirty.
A red day is only an opportunity if the cash was already waiting.
Buying the dip sounds simple. It needs money that isn't rent, isn't the emergency fund, and isn't needed this year.
Decide what that money is and where it sits before the market drops. Then a bad day is just a plan running.
A proposal with three options and a recommendation gets a decision faster than one take-it-or-leave-it price.
Activity is easy to count. Outcomes pay the invoice.
Tickets closed, commits pushed, hours logged. They all look busy on a report.
A client doesn't care how many changes it took. They care whether month-end now takes one afternoon instead of three days.
Report the result first. The activity is just the receipt.
Free money comes before smart money.
If your employer matches retirement contributions, take the full match first. No investment reliably beats getting paid to save.
After that, TFSA or RRSP depends on your tax rate now versus later. Higher income today usually favours the RRSP. Lower income usually favours the TFSA.
The order matters more than the picks.
