So now here we are a month later. Notice the sudden media silence after all that paranoia? #wangliqiang theaustralian.com.au/nation/…

It wasn't stolen in the same sense of Hong Kong or Taiwan. Britain obtained Singapore after taking sides in disputes between local rulers who signed it away.
If anyone tries “stolen land” crap in Singapore they immediately deport you

Have you ever considered the possibility that China's merit based political system, that has produced the most rapid increase in living standards in human history, is actually a more advanced form of governance than performative, reality-show style elections?
Today we voted. When did you last do that, China?

Asking other countries to destroy your own is traitorous behaviour.
Joshua Wong was two months from walking out of prison. Hong Kong just gave him 10 more years. He pleaded guilty to conspiring with foreign forces over his 2020 calls for sanctions on Hong Kong and China. Prosecutors cited his newspaper writing, media interviews and shared posts. Wong says he never pushed for independence or regime change. The judge started at 13 years and took off 3 for the plea. Wong’s release is now expected in late 2036. Asking other countries for help is speech, and Hong Kong now jails people for it.

How about China bombs you instead?
It's time, China must back-office from Philippines's territories & drop all the illegal claims inside Philippines's territory. Scarborough Shoal, Second Thomas Shoal, Subi Reef, Mischief Reef belongs to Philippines.

The Venn diagram of those accusing China of being "an ally of Israel" due to trade relationships, Uyghur 'Genocide' believers and Taiwan supporters within the left is a perfect circle.

The sudden end to Zero Covid demanded by these social murderers have produced more deaths than thousands of Tiananmen Square repressions put together. Fuck you liberal democracists. Y'all are war criminals who owe blood debt. 🖕🖕🖕
Tonight, I think of all the people in China who never had the chance to vote out the president and party leaders who imposed draconian zero-COVID lockdowns that caused immense suffering and countless unnecessary deaths.

That relationship is now over. The US wanted it that way, and Filipinos embraced it. The Philippines will pay the price, China as well, but the US again will get away scot free.
For thousands of years, China and the Philippines were trading partners. Long before colonization, Chinese merchants and Filipino ancestors exchanged goods, cultures, and traditions. Our history was built on trade and friendship, not hostility.

See this is why we know you're a clown. Zero COVID saved millions of lives. Just as it did in Taiwan.

It’s crazy how China is an evil communist state when it’s time to demonize China and suddenly becomes a Capitalist state when it’s time to give credit to its development 😂

The majority of people from every country are fairly stupid, as recent interactions with Turks and Europeans reveal, but Filipinos surpass that (they're also lovely people).
This is why I say that the Filipinos are morons. Literally. Only a nation of morons is that easy to brainwash.

As opposed to what exactly? We saw how the West treats pro-Palestine protestors.
China tolerates differences only as long as they remain subservient to and safe for the Chinese Communist Party.

Japan was also founded in 1945 by this logic.

Your electoral records do not show that you 'hate both sides'. We aren't obliged to give you benefits of doubt the same way we weren't when comes to say, nuanceling over Eastern European Nazi collaborationists who claim that they 'oppose both Nazis and Soviets'.
non filipinos cant seem to fathom that we hate both the US and china all because they dont experience being stretched thin at both sides. must be so nice to live in a country that isn't being forced to bow down to two imperialist states.

Your understanding of history is pretty interesting. You remember every time someone attacked Vietnam, but conveniently forget that Vietnam also attacked others. 🤣 First, Vietnam repeatedly expanded southward throughout its history, annexing territory from the Kingdom of Champa and gradually taking control of the Mekong Delta, which had previously been under Khmer influence. Doesn't that count as conquest and aggression? Second, Vietnam deserves credit for overthrowing the Khmer Rouge in 1978. But overthrowing a brutal regime doesn't mean that nearly a decade of military occupation afterward was completely free of controversy. Third, you bring up Chinese dynasties from a thousand years ago while conveniently ignoring the fact that ancient Vietnamese dynasties also expanded through warfare. So when China fights a war, it's called aggression, but when Vietnam does the same, it's called national heroism? Here's an analogy: Imagine someone constantly pointing to the scars left by his ancestors to accuse his neighbor, while hiding all the land his own ancestors conquered and all the wars they fought. The moment someone questions him, he insists he's always been the victim. 😂 What's even more ridiculous is that you're holding modern Chinese people responsible for wars fought by ancient dynasties a thousand years ago. By that logic, should modern Vietnamese people also be held responsible for the territorial expansion of ancient Vietnamese dynasties? History isn't your personal accounting book. You can't keep a record of what others supposedly owe you for a thousand years while conveniently writing off everything your own side did. You're not respecting history. You're looking at it through the lens of nationalism, choosing to see only the half that suits your narrative. 🤣

Another example of why violence is often beneficial. China's reluctance of using violence means hating it is easy and not costly.
>Uses a Latin based writing system invented by your colonizers; the French. You don't seem to have a problem worshiping the French who invented your written language. It's interesting how Vietnamese hates China, while having a 70%+ favorability rating for the US. A country who carpet-bombed them and spread Agent Orange in their country. There are actually very few country in the Global South who has a backbone, most victims of western imperialism actually love the West.

This is true. China's reluctance in retaliating with violence and other serious measures means opposing it comes with little to no costs. You can't do this with the West. Because the West will understands the benefits of violence.
No one respects China and loves to mock them. Teodoro delivers a pointed about Chinese investments, joking that China might bring POGO gambling operations into the West Philippine Sea.

US democracy just produced two genocidal presidents. Meanwhile, China has delivered since Deng one boring, peaceful leadership after another.
Since the start of 2025, Non-American Western intellectual and policy elites have been going on about how China is a more “certain” partner than the US. The latest US mid-term elections results show that while China’s “certainty” is unchecked authoritarianism, the US is also displaying “certainty” in terms of an ability to self-correct and to impose checks and balances. Democracy (for all its imperfections) means that we can wait out Trump’s insanity; authoritarianism means that Xi’s insanity will endure.

China's incursion in PH waters is a direct result of the presence of US military bases on our lands btw. Whenever I say this people think I'm "excusing china" and not just making basic geopolitical analysis like duh yes the other global superpower is going to make a move too
How to fight Chinese incursion without depending on U.S. military aid & treaties (MDT, VFA, EDCA, Balikatan, Pax Silica)? 1. Abolish NTF-ELCAC. 2. Rechannel ELCAC billions to external defense modernization. 3. Reorient AFP's focus toward national security, not counterinsurgency.
